I think that this is a trend, that will pass, and is probably actually already on it's way out. Many classic minecraft youtubers like Lizzie and Joel make pretty much the same content they ever made, and it's just as good imo. Skeppy always did challenge videos, putting x kids in a box did get old and was overdone but his most recent videos were all bangers. The sad reality is nothing will ever be the same, ever. As you get older, things change. That's good, if it was always the same then it would be boring. I really enjoy Minecraft youtube still, it has definitely changed from when they used to dominate Twitch, but nothing lasts forever. Just be glad it happened.

I don't think I'm alone when I say the older Minecraft KZfaqrs probably became so popular through their creativity. This is shown through examples like Pat and Jen who created so many diverse series to their name, or DanTDM with his iconic character Dr. Traysaurus. Minecraft's content has also changed through creators leaving too, like FyreUK, who I personally have as a memory when I bought the four original handbooks which they were repeatedly mentioned in. Of course, this is all my opinion.

I used to create Minecraft machinima videos 6-7 years ago and stopped uploading due to university preparation. When I came back to look at what has changed on KZfaq, I was shocked at the fact that literally all Minecraft machinima channels had died and they were replaced with the ones you mentioned in this video. Some of the channels still seem to be creative with their Minecraft content, but most of them are now repetitive money generators. I don't know what the next trend is going to be in Minecraft, but it needs to change soon.

Personally, I really value subtitles because of my sensory processing issues, and while I agree with the general sentiments (including of the psychological effects of subtitles) I feel like subtitles becoming more common is a net positive.

I'm glad someone's made a video. Since the beginning of this year, I've felt were back in where Minecraft was in like.. 2015? Coming from someone who was done with Minecraft by like end of 2013 or so for reference. We've come full circle again, and the "nostalgia" factor is gone. Skeppy for reference was someone I loved watching over summer of 2020 despite his content not really being what I ever watch. Now? It's all... well as you said in this video. Fast paced, clickbaity, etc. It's just the past "cringe" era with subtitles. At least we can watch the few solid creators.

I agree with most everything you've said here and have been thinking this for a while As a Minecraft KZfaqr, or just a KZfaqr in general, it's hard not to fall into the trap of "only doing things that will appease the algorithm / only copying what works for others, etc." and going sicko mode with that concept lmao. We have to remember that it's important to stay grounded in who we are, and to make content because you truly enjoy what you're creating, not solely just chasing the numbers. While I honestly believe that it is important to try your best to keep improving your retention, and to try to get more views and to improve analytics wise, it's important to not lose yourself in the process. Stay true to yourself within your content, kings.

im sick of these past few years. and all i have to blame is covid honestly. it brought people so much freetime that they had nothing else to do rather than sit at home and play minecraft. and first it blew up and it was the best year of my life. 2018-2020 was such a good time in my life and i could really enjoy content creators and now its all gone to waste. i have to admit that tiktok is the worst part about this. as you said in the video, the attention span of people quickly went to 0 and now theres really not that much content that people including me can enjoy. and i dont know about you but all these minecraft videos have already got on my nerves. i sometimes cant believe people actually like content like this and all these mrbeast videos, dream videos, dream copies, mrbeast copies, etc.. are starting to get to me. salc1 is probably one of the only ones thats left that isnt trash content. and i dont see another way out of this. minecraft is dying, honestly already dead. the hypixel content creation and ESPECIALLY the bedwars community is just cringing the fuck out of me. take for example all those new "content" creators.. "3 new best texture packs" and thats all they post. or take for example "deadsocky". i cant see his face ever again. his videos are just him with a facecam and a mic SO CLOSE TO HIS FACE. you can hear his lungs from inside out. and he keeps making those weird fucking faces that make me feel like he wants to kidnap me. i dont know where the world has gone since the pandemic.. games are boring, videos are boring, and no one knows what to do with themselves. im glad someone atleast has an opinion about this getting out of control. i hate what dream has done to the content creation in minecraft.. but its honestly not all him to blame. i hope sometimes soon we could come back to play minecraft late at night. not to talk about those minecraft updates.. 1.17, 1.18, 1.19 are all the same update but split to 3 parts. mojang promised to us so many things, we got all hyped up and honestly i dont feel like they updated anything except the caves. i barely see the new mountains, and if i do the snow is drowning me and i cant climb up the mountains. goats are useless, there are no bundles, no biome updates like the birch that they promised and the swamp is pretty whack. i wish they could actually do the stuff they promised to do. for example the fireflies.. they said they dont want to add them because "some are poisonous to frogs". like dawg. we can eat raw meat, kill animals for a living and eat their flesh alive, murder cats and human beings (being the villagers) and they dont want to add fireflies? what about adding to the ambiance of the biomes? they just promise too much stuff and dont add the stuff they promised because of some stupid "reasons". and then repeate it every year. cant we have one normal update? update the birch, badlands, plains, taiga, like even with the taiga update all they did is update the villages, add some berries and a fox. how is that an update? come on mojang. do better. take for example the warden.. they promised to release him in summer of 2021. and then for unknown reasons made the update a 2 part and released him only in 1.19 not even in the part 2? like come the fuck on. im so done and upset.

I was born at such a time that I grew up watching old MCYT and new MCYT. I appreciate both eras of MCYT because although they both have different feels to them, what’s important to me is that there’s a MCYT community at all. Lots of people really dislike the new creators and the community associated with them, but I’m just glad there’s a thriving community at all. I personally just hope that Mojang doesn’t kill the community with their new updates as of recently.

this is the reason I like 100 Days videos. They are usually around 30 minutes to 1/2 hours. And many of them dont have the king of the algorithm SUBTITLES, unless its a live 100 days video if you know what i mean (e.g sb737) and even then most of those live 100 days dont have subtitles!

I was making a youtube video, editing it as much as possible to keep up retention, then I watched one of my videos that I barely edited, and I enjoyed it so so much. Of course I would have edited it a little more. I've realized how much I hate hyper editing, and fast pace editing. There's things on success about youtubers, and it's from them making their vlogs into highlight reels of the day, I really would just prefer to see the entire day edited down just a little. I guess those people who have short attention spans will hate this, but I think people should just get better at being patient, because the non hyper edited videos are much much much better.
