Today Omz has blessed us with more brain eating escape rooms. Of course, this is all in good fun. I don't hate Omz. Please do not attack him. He is epic, just a bit empty in the brain (well he's done worse but we'll get to that later).
Part 1 - • The WORST Prison Escap...
Part 3 - • The Omziscool Finale |...

This is a really interesting example of how information security works, and one of the most common pitfalls that people fall into when trying to design secure systems It's clear that he's started out with a particular solution to the puzzle in mind, and then he builds the puzzle with the idea that his chosen solution has to work which is an entirely different kind of thing from trying to build a puzzle that only has one solution, or even a puzzle that has no braindead obvious solutions it reminds me a lot of the 'ward' locks that europe used before the pin-and-tumbler lock was invented. if you've ever seen a key with 3 equally-sized teeth branching straight off from it, maybe in a cartoon or something, that's a warded key. basically, the lock would have a few specifically-shaped holes in it, and then the key's teeth would be placed at the same locations as those holes, so that they could smoothly turn the lock plug by fitting into the holes. but if you had the wrong key, the teeth wouldn't line up with the holes, and the plug wouldn't turn. the problem, of course, was that if you just cut off all of the key's teeth, so it didn't even try to interact with the holes at all and was basically just a small thin stick, then it would work the lock just as well as the real key. probably even better, in fact, since it didn't have any teeth to get caught on the lock's interior. this is where the term 'skeleton key' comes from; it's a key that's had all its extra bits shaved off, so it will open any lock. a secure lock is one that checks to make sure it's the right key. but ward locks are completely backwards; instead, it's the key that checks to make sure it's the right lock. sorta like these 'escape room' puzzles. he's got a specific key, a specific solution in mind, and he keeps tinkering with a lock, adding on more ward holes or tinkering with the angles, until his chosen key opens it. he never even bothers checking to see if any *other* keys also open this lock. and so, for an embarrassing number of them, it turns out *any* key would open his lock. In the same way that almost any attempted solution solves his puzzles. That's why it's so obvious that he started out with the solution in mind. Nobody looks at a lock and thinks "oh man, i'm gonna try a key with these crazy teeth shaped like a smiley face and a sticky piston" unless they already know it'll work. ANYONE without prior knowledge would start trying keys with the simplest possible teeth first, and work their way up in complexity. And if it turns out that the simplest key works, they would never *ever* dream up some crazily-shaped complex key to try next. but he always skips straight to the crazy, and then it actually works each time sorry lol i just watched a bunch of deviant's lockpicking content and it feels like such a strong analogy, i wanted to share

There's a quote about movie making, I don't really remember who said it, but it goes something like "The director knows that directors often tilt their cameras, but he doesn't exactly know why." I realised the reason Omz uses hoppers so much is because he at the very least understands it's a container that can't be collected by hand, but seeing as he almost never collects any other block by hand, it's essentially pointless.

Would you ever consider doing your own series like this, cleverly solving isolated puzzles that utilize Minecraft mechanics in unexpected ways? Except with much higher standards. I would probably watch it even if you were the one making the puzzles, since that would guarantee the maps meet your standards. but bonus points if you figure out a way to do them blind without sacrificing quality.

At this point I feel like Omz is one of Kenadian's friends and they decided to collaborate after Seawattgaming to create easy content for Kenadian... and then Omz realized that he was actually getting rich even with extremely low effort prisons so he just kept doing it Like, I mean, he even unironically said "and then I started to use my brain"!!! It's like more likely that he's faking it than this being unironic

4:04 Yes, Omz needs 3 signs total to power the furnace in order to smelt 3 glass blocks. I wonder if there are alternative resources you could use to power the furnace. I think a melting hot liquid could work, maybe it's also capable of smelting all 3 sand blocks!
