I'm not sure how I feel about this. When I first started playing minecraft the only reason I played was to find diamonds. Not saying I dont like the nether update as the biomes are amazing, but I think they should give netherite some limitations. It should only be really good for the nether. I just love diamonds too much to want something better..

I think it's fantastic that we finally have a new armor/tool type. Hopefully in a future update the End can get it's own OP armor (even better than Netherite, since you can only go to the end after getting to the Nether first).

Kayden Gyolai Beds explode stand 5 blocks away from the bed and have a block 4 blocks away up to your characters legs hold a shield and try to sleep. You won’t take any damage and it will make a bigger explosion than tnt

Yeah beds are definitely the most cost-effective and efficient way to mine netherite. Been doing it in my survival world and got way more than when I tried getting tnt or when I strip mined.

It does actually. If you throw the armor at a cactus horizontally and give it a second or two it should disappear. If you throw it from the top of the cactus it won’t work.

The crafting mechanic is kind of cool thematically too. Instead of armor actually COMPOSED of Netherite, it's more like you have Netherine COATED armor! (sort of reinforcing your diamond armor) Neat.

Nowadays enchantments stay put so please don't disenchant your stuff. And yes wattles was right this is what the smithing table is for. It is still very rare (beds or tnt for best mining results), floats on lava, only used for upgrading diamond gear, still the strongest in vanilla, floats on lava and looks awesome.

I sell carrots, beets, melons, pumpkins, potatoes, paper, books, fish, and white wool. If you trade enough you get crazy discounts and make tons of emeralds. Librarians are the best, I have like 13... grow bamboo and breed lots of cows and you make lots of emeralds from those guys.

Since Diamond already has the highest armor rating, I like the idea that higher armor sets have built in bonus effects to make them better. Netherite has Knockback Resistance built into it. Maybe if there's an Ender Armor in the future it has a built in Slow Falling Effect?

Netherite is cool looking, and it does not completely eliminate use of diamond, and gives gold some much needed love. A few extra situational quality of life things added over diamond but being much harder to obtain sounds good to me.

As of right now. The smithing table is the way to upgrade your diamond gear into netherite gear. On top of that it doesn’t remove your enchantments so that’s really neat!

Making netherite stuff: taking gold, covering the gold with paper-like netherite scraps to form a netherite ingot. Then flattening out the netherite ingot and covering the diamond tool/armor item with the flattened out ingot. So the tool is still a diamond tool, it’s just covered in netherite. I think that this is a good representation of what happens when you craft netherite tools

I have made a full set of netherite armor yesterday. The way idid it was made a inventory full of beds and used tgis to mine. After using one bed, I mined 9 blocks from the explosion then placed another bed. Also many of you might know this but you do not lose your enchants anymore!

Points to note: Diamond gear is being upgraded, not nerfed. Anything made with Ancient Debris will not burn in Lava. You will need to explore new chunks to find it. Keep your Diamond gear as backup, and make new Diamond/Netherite gear to enchant. Forgo the Hoe to make an extra set of Frostwalker Boots for the Nether, and count on upgrading more than just one Diamond item for conflicting enchantments (Fortune/Silktouch, etc.). Netherite Blocks have the same Blast resistance as Obsidian, but can be moved with piston. Leather armor is actually more enchantable than Diamonds. Flying TNT Dupers will be the easiest way to find Netherite, and in the Wasteland Biomes to avoid a lot of Lava and the new Biomes being released. And Shipwrecks will be rarer in 1.16, so you may want to locate as many as you can before the update.

You can make a Gunpowder farm, get alot of sand, and then make a line of 5-10 TNT and you can reveal alot of Netherite, use the Compostor X-Ray.

17:59 in my mind, a way to improve the armor bar for Netherite is something like the Overloaded Armor Bar mod. It'll just overlay another color of chestplate over the other parts of the bar so that the hotbar UI doesn't get any taller (and start covering the screen).

Other armor ideas: Netherrack armor (equivilent to gold cause it already breaks quickly) Emerald armor (like diamond but glows in the dark) Lapis armor (like chain-mail) Red stone armor (activates any redstone compatible objects but the more the armor, the more the charge)

It's cool that they added something more rare and better than diamonds after 9 years. You can't find debris in the upper world, you can't find it in villages or in dungeons, you need diamond tools to get to nether and to get debris, to make netherite tools. Well it could probably be an upgrade to the regular boat with storage being added with a regular boat (any kind) in the middle on the make a boat shape surrounding the bottom half with a chest in the top middle and 2 netherite ingots in the top corners. This boat can have storage,swim over lava,and make be a little bit faster.
