This is actually incredible for elevators because it only moves things that it's attached to when it BEGINS the move (and can be moved at all), but ALL blocks can be used to stop its movement at any floor. This means you could VERY easily make a multi-floor stopper by having a piston push a block in the way of the place you want to stop on, then simply move it back out of the way before starting movement again.

Moving blocks would be great for mini games in vanilla! Could always make it work with a specific block type to limit some of the more funky aspects.

It'd be so dope to have a minigame based on something like this, and I see a lot of people saying that this was hastily thrown together with little testing, but my way of seeing this is that if they can do this in their free time for fun, imagine what could be done if they listened to the better ideas of the community and chose to try to add other cool stuff in like usability for the fletching table.

April fools updates make me a little mad that microsoft apparently is interfering so much with development. April fools updates although they have many flaws. You can still tell that mojang team still has a lot of creativity and ideas they just are limited in what they can do. Since they also need to support the corporate needs for minecraft as a business/brand.

Even if it stayed creative exclusive, the potential here is incredible. I really really hope they keep this feature!

i hope these moving platforms make it to vanilla, they're so bloody cool but knowing april fools updates, doubt it unfortunately

This could be a great feature that could added to the game but if powered it only moves around 15 blocks instead of an infinite distance, also there is a limit to the amount of blocks you can pull, the biggest being a 5x5 cube with 25 blocks. It would be too game breaking if you could move entire houses or mountains it could be something added in an end update or the new dimension update, it makes more sense for it to be more of a fantasy feature like skulk sensor then something that's realistic like pistons

It seems this works very similarly to how the create mod makes its moving contraptions (the things that spin and smoothly slide from one position to another their trains are also moving contraptions) which is basically turning your build into an entity (at least that’s how I think it works since contraptions do have hitboxes)

Real cool platforming segment. If you want to add detail to the floor you could replace the floor with water and put structures in the water for detail. (Also acts as a safety net for players if they fall down.)

Those Floataters move faster if you put more of them in parallel pointing the same direction. They also interact in strange ways with minecarts on rails (as long as there's a block behind the cart while traveling), and they react in interesting ways with boats, if you're in the boat. It's fun to build one at Y=310 or so, because it'll just keep going and going. I wonder how long it would take to go from the origin to one edge of the world border with a 5x5 grid of floataters? But if you make it that fast, it's really hard to get back to it if you fall off!
