How to create a simple compact Cow-Farm in Minecraft! A simple quick tutorial that tells you all you need!
The glass and slabs are for decorative purposes and can be replaced by normal blocks.
The farm requires 24 cows in it to be functional , then all you need to do is breed two cows in it to trigger entity cramming and automatically replace and kill one of the cows.
This is a simple and easy to build Minecraft cow farm.
Materials:
3 Stairs
3 Slabs
3 Glass
1 Chest
1 Hopper
1 Fence
1 Water Bucket

A tip for putting cows in the hole: place a block on one of the glass blocks and then push the cow against the block to align it. Saved a lot of time after trying to just push the cow into a hole

Best way as shown here to push the cows in is to make sure they are facing you and bopping pushing them backwards

I was having issues with the chest, instead I putt the chest under the hopper and it worked, still have to manually feed though.

i have a good tip, use a lead for the cows and stand on the glass in the corner away from the stairs, then they will automaticly walk in :D

A tip for placing the water on bedrock: just place the water BEFORE getting the cows inside, ur welcome :)

Entity cramming isn't a thing on bedrock, a cow crusher is not useful there.

Very helpful! It would have been nice to have a chest listed for the needed supplies, but this tutorial was very straightforward otherwise! I added a slot to the side and to the back of this design for different colored sheep. 👌

@@christinahoyt8969 that’s fair, and I know the video was short, but he did have a screen that listed every other supply used for the project. I paused there and used the visual to stock my inventory. It was definitely a minor issue but it’s not like it’s weird to point something like that out.

Epic video but 2 questions it won’t kill the baby cows instead of the full grown ones and does it work in 1.19 bedrock?

This should work in 1.19 and the fully grown cows should be the only ones being affected.

Is it necessary to put in the water? I can't place the water on top of the hopper without killing the cows and it took me no less than an hour to get those damn cows in there lol

Tips: You can also extend it by building the same thing on the other side of the stair If you dropped one cow in the hole just feed it and the one outside so it falls to the hole

I usually put mine in a hole in the ground and cover it. You don't even know they're there. I have forgotten about where my cows were many times tho so maybe I need this.

I built this in Bedrock on the Xbox One X and for some reason the entity cramming never kicked in. I put them to the sword because the sheer number of them was causing my console to lag and ended up with almost four stacks of leather. 😅

There is no entity cramming in Bedrock so it won't work. Unfortunately, this farm is Java only.

The cow crusher I used to use doesn't work because when they're are many cows you can't breed all of them.... does this one fix it? (the issue happened in 1.19)

The water pushes them up them allowing for all the cows to be bred. This fixes the issue of some cows blocking others.

Wont I have to manually keep feeding them in order to always have a source of food/flow of food. Because if I have like 24 and I feed the cows and it kills one, I have to manually feed them again to kill one off, because cows don't auto breed with each other? So this isnt really a automatic farm....

no but as you keep breeding the cows, more and more babies are going to grow and you'll start getting stacks of steak and leather

It does not workon Bedrock 1.20. I've made 6 of these exactly 1:1 like on video and have a few hundreds of cows living in each. What is more I had to modify it a little bit and and add glass on top because they were escaping after a few dozens.

Yes, the farm requires the cows to be bred.

@@InknightMC I'm looking for a farm that can use dispensers and redstone repeaters to automatically feed wheat to the cows in 5 minute intervals (since that's the cooldown period before they are eligible to breed again), and once the farm is complete, I can just set it and forget it. Of course, I would still need to regularly put wheat inside the dispenser (perhaps by using a chest two blocks above the dispenser with a hopper in between), but aside from that maintenance, the farm should be automatic. I wouldn't have to keep coming back to the farm every five minutes, as long as I keep a full chest of wheat. Do you know of a farm tutorial video you can recommend?

I do not know if a farm like that exists because as far as I know, animals can only be fed by the player manually. However if you are just looking for an automated food source, chicken farms might do the trick.

The chicken lay eggs which get collected and dispensed. When the eggs break they have a chance of spawning baby chickens. The baby chickens then grow up and die in lava.

This most likely will work on Bedrock but there will have to be 44 cows in it instead of 24.

@@sweetlovecat With full blocks i think i did but long story tht farm got destroyed by my friend and on the 2nd one i used slabs and it was fine. If your using cows leave slabs if not doo full blocks

Yes as it counts the entity of one single block and only 24 mobs can survive and 25th one will be killed

you have to feed wheat. just hold right click with stack of wheat and go in circles fast to feed em all

No matter what I did I could not get the water in 🤷. Ended up killing cows, then putting water in, then putting cows back in, which worked. Weird
