I remember how I first got MC, It was tax time. My mom promised me 100 bucks... never gave them to me. I only asked for one thing. Mine craft... best 100 bucks I ever spent. (estimated over 1000 hours)

I remember getting a hacked version of minecraft to start off with and remember building secret passages throughout, then I built my pet chickens a nice home and a tree house. I cant believe how long its been but it brings such amazing memories

@EdwardianMystery I feel the same way. Almost brings a tear to my eye thinking of all the amazing memories I had with this game, watching and playing it. One of the main reasons why I've made my channel, in hopes of making content to bring the same memories/nostalgia to others years down the road the way Ceps has!

I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, but older Minecraft had such a bigger sense of wonderment. It was much more captivating that what Minecraft's turned into. Maybe it's the over saturation of Minecraft's exposure, or how out of control people have become with it. Again, I'm not sure what caused it, but Minecraft's not the same anymore. This song - for me - perfectly recreates that love for Minecraft I once had.. Also, this song is over 6 years old.. Isn't really relevant, but it's really been over 6 years since I first heard this..

Yeah it does. The closest thing to the original grass is when you go to the grasslands on a sunny day, but even then it's not quite the same. Minecraft is oddly satisfying when neon for sure.

I'm sitting here watching this and thinking, "Oh my god, I remember when I had to do that to get Mine carts to move!" and just remembering back to when I was younger playing this game and how Minecraft just feels..... different now. Needless to say, I have a LOT of good memories associated with this game and even just with this song.

I played a fuckton of minecraft a few years back, when I was in middle school. All night, all day. Failed the fuck out of grade 7 and 8 because of it, but I wouldn't change a thing. Haven't played it in a year or so, but I really miss the time I had playing it. In grade 11 now, miss those times every day. Rest in peace public multiplayer minecraft servers, killed by 8 year olds and script kiddies.

This song screams nostalgia to me. I mean I know these annoying comments are on every god damn minecraft video but this game felt so much more genuine when it was the masterpiece and humble little dream that one guy and his friends made in their free time. Seeing what this game has become, the corporate crap, the children's marketing, the Microsoft buyout. The way people treated Notch to the point where he stopped making video games. As stellar the game is now. I just want those days back man, coming home from school and getting onto the laggy and glitchy multiplayer with my friends, making the best with what we had, using that imagination that was so woefully dwindling at those mid/late teen years and just playing a videogame and haviing fun. Its all just memories now.

+ItWasBetterInThe60s I know! I've always felt that Minecraft lost some of its class and charm as its been updated over the years. I sometimes switch my client to WAY back in time just for the memory rush. (sigh) I remember when there was no hunger bar, you couldn't run, the only meat was pork, endermen weren't even a thought yet, bows were rapid fire, the nether didn't work in multiplayer, and Zombies dropped feathers.... (sigh) Remember the Shadow of Israphel from the Yogscast? That's there is the definition of nostalgia for me.

It's crazy. I've been playing minecraft for *7 years.* I've loved every bit of the alpha and beta stages. My favourite time to play was around beta 1.8.1. It was crazy to see those huge new ravines. The progress, on one hand, is incredible, but on another hand, dull and kind of boring. I miss the alpha days so much, it was so much more simplier, and I only learnt how to play off paulsoaresjr and Coestar because the community was so small. Good times.

I recently found an assignment I did back in 2011 where I had to list facts a bunch of facts about myself. When It came to favorite artist, I had written Viktor Cepeda. Because to me, this song meant something. I still love it and the acoustic version so much (if you haven't already, go give it a listen). My mom was working in a different state at the time, so it was just me and my dad at home. We used to watch the let's play series "Coe's Quest" together while we ate dinner. This song was used as the intro. This song became an important part of my everyday life and helped me bond with my dad. I still think this is THE best Minecraft song ever released. Thank you, Viktor.

+DrizztTV _ Agreed. I have been playing Minecraft since about Alpha, and I have had the opportunity to be able to see this game grow and evolve over the years. I still enjoy playing it and SOME of the new features (redstone stuff) has been cool, but other stuff has just been unnecessary (they added wings to vanilla......). Despite all the updates, you just cant beat the classics though. I've always felt that as the games updated, it lost some of the magic that made it awesome. I remember playing this in alpha, with its glitch multiplayer, feather dropping zombies, uncooperative nether portals, and world holes around every corner. XD (sigh) I miss the Minecraft of old.....

I forgot the name of this song and just came back to it. Actually one of my greatest childhood memories. Playing Minecraft all day after school back before the hunger bar and growing up watching Coes Quest, then Yogscast, then way later Skydoesminecraft. I stopped playing shortly after the PVP update came out. This old version of Minecraft was the golden age of my childhood

Just in case you don't know, the new launcher (AKA, the current one since mid-year 2013) can take you back to all alpha and beta versions (or nearly all), and even some pre-alpha (infdev, classic, and notch's early dev versions).

Впервые услышал эту песню в 2015 году. Тогда я играл в телефоне который еле грузил майн, копался под эту песню в шахте и наслаждался жизнью. Теперь мне скоро 22 года, а эта песня всё ещё с теплотой в моём сердце. Майнкрафт старого образца мне всегда нравился больше.

The good old youtube days and old mimecraft days but man this was the golden times back when youtube was worth to watch and minecraft was really fun and creative. But now coppa is taking over and youtube is getting strict and most og youtubers have left youtube and minecraft is just becoming a mess because of the stuff they keep adding but yeah i wish i could turn back time to the og days and relive them

Since Minecraft has kinda resurrected, and I've started playing vanilla with friends, I remembered this song. This was some of the first exposure to Minecraft and what made me want to get the game. Still a great song, and I hope that the kids that are as young as I was can find some nostalgia in this song one day.

Why are people hating on Present Minecraft? I've already typed up a speech on Coe's Quest Ep 1, so I'm just gonna paste it here: While it's very nice being nostalgic, just because Minecraft is now different from what it was 10 years ago, does not mean the current Minecraft is worst. It *is not* the same feeling. It *is not* the same magic. It *is* a much changed game. The Minecraft now _isn't bad,_ it's just _different._ Not only the game, but the community as well. And that's good! If Minecraft never changed for 10 years, how well do you think it'd survive? The updates these recent years have indeed been more frequent and a lot more drastic. And that adds its own kind of magic and fun, y'know. And that's what's important. Fun. Entertainment. Even if you may not like the present, or simply prefer the past, you should at least acknowledge this: Be grateful that Minecraft is still relevant. End of speech. Also, wHo's HerE iN 2020?

Coes Quest!!!!!! Yes! That was my humble beginnings, though I was older than you. Escaping a depressing dating scene haha. I miss minecraft let's plays with that sense of peace and wholesomeness. Everyone shouts and does crazy stuff these days. Sometimes I wonder if there's a market for a chill let's play of minecraft these days, like Coe was. Then I wonder if the algorithm wouldn't allow it...

I wonder what the people who commented 7 years ago saying "i miss old minecraft" have to say about it now. I miss minecraft from 2010-2013, nothing can bring back those good times :( remember back when it was on a website and you could join those little servers. Damn.

This is the most classic Minecraft song. Reminds me of when I was extremely ecstatic when playing the game for the first time. Reminds me of maybe the best time I've had in my life :)
