Wow this looks really amazing! Artstyle is stunning, and unlimited inventory is a blessing. I will however wait for patches, frequent long loading times can really annoy me.

I remember being booth neighbors with them at PAX East and Day of the Devs! Mineko's Night Market is an absolutely amazing and chill game. And the dev/publishers behind it are some of the nicest people I've met!

I knew I'm gonna get this game as soon as I saw the art style and that you could pet the cats, and I'm glad that mechanically and story-wise it's great! But I hope there's a few patches to smoothen things out a bit more, so I'll wait for now. Thank you for the review!

It looks so cute! I love having a stamina bar rather than time that moves faster than me. I'm just worried about mini games as my hand eye coordination sucks. But maybe once it's patched and goes on sale, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the review!

Very happy to see your review! I preordered a physical copy, one for the feels and also because I knew there would be bugs and figured by next month, maybe a patch might come through. Hoping the devs really listen to some of these initial issues and work to fix or improve them. I'm super stoked about inventory not being an issue, that really bogs me down in games at times. And the mini-game aspect to things kinda reminds me of Spiritfarer, so that should be fun! Thank you again for your review and not spoiling anything! 💜

The devs care, I think! They spent so much extra time perfecting this game. They were supposed to release it years ago, but didn't want to rush it. I'm so excited for this game

Thank you so much for covering this one, Mark! I absolutely love this game, I've been looking out for it since it was first announced so many years ago and I can't believe it's finally here! The review was well done as always, and the performance issues do sound a bit troubling so I may wait before I pick it up or just get it on Steam. Also that music at the end really has that ACNH 3AM vibe haha

This looks very impressive! I really love the art style and it seems to have way way more content than I had thought. Great to see that little tasks that would usually just be a press of a button have been converted to fun little mini games. The bugs seem a bit annoying though, so I'm hoping for a release patch. Well, thanks Mark. Now I want to get this one. The art style, gameplay and QoL features are really doing it for me. Sad about the glitches and performance issues tho, wondering if I should wait for a patch. Thank you for always being honest and highlighting the good and bad of each game!

Mineko's Night Market looks like such a good game, ticks so many boxes. I would normally wait for a sale but I've ordered it at full price because it looks so worth it and to support the studio that made it. At only £15 odd, well worth it anyway. I've got quite the back log, so once I've got through a few games hopefully they'd of updated this to fix those little floors. Nice work switchup, good find good review.

This has been on my radar for so long that for a long time I assumed it wasn't ever going to be released. It may have some issues but I'm probably (I'm lying, I definitely will) pick this up sooner rather than later.

After hundreds and hundreds of hours in stardew, animal crossing, and sakuna I've been on a pretty big burnout of these types of games but this one really does look so charming. Think I'll have to give it a go. I'll remember your advice too and be sure to sell all of my flowers before the new season. Thanks so much! .. 😉

This is a great game - up until you get the sewing craft table. There are a lot of long load times, but until I got the ability to sew it was shy of ruining the experience. The wait times after sewing was the thread that broke the camel's back. And then I had a crash at the end of day on a night market day and now I am taking a break until there is a patch.

This is one of the more optimistic detailed as well as positive reviews about this game I've seen so far this publisher has a long reputation of releasing good titls so I'm certain that some of this stuff is not most of it will probably be patched and by the time it gets released on next-gen consoles and Xbox One and PS4 in late October of this year hopefully by then this will all be fixed 😊

This is interesting, 3rd review I've watched for this game and highest score. It seems to have a mixed reception. One review pointed out that it was work work work, yet the lore seems to be mentioned by yourselves as a highlight. It sounds to me you've actually experienced the game laid back like it should be played unlike others who prob rushed through.

EXACTLY I’ve been playing this one slowly over a week or so and if you rushed it - it wouldn’t feel right. Plus, it’s just a chill game once you unlock the companion he can go out and do a lot of the work for you. I feel like some people didn’t get that far.. - Mark

This feels like an "Animal Crossing"-like with a proper story to it, somewhere of what folks told me of "Stardew Valley". I feel a bit overwhelmed by what is described, but heck, the artstyle looks pretty. Might pick it up.

I wanted more outfits. I'm just entering the Winter season in the game now. I like the game but some of the glitches are so annoying. Like the woodworking bench sometimes doesn't work for me. Also one that annoys me is the filter for my inventory doesn't work great. For instance, I'll have it filtered to fish, sell some fish and when i go back to the inventory i can see everything in my inventory, not just fish. It does this with all the filters for me. There's a few other bugs, but other than that i love the game after a hard day at work and i just wanna relax. It's a beautiful game. I agree with your review ❤

Do you ever really “beat” one of these - put it this way it took me 20 hours to get through just spring and summer. Now I am a completionist so that’s probably more like 10 hours for the average person and then you could delay the main quests completely so that would add a ton of time… I’d say 20-30 hours for most people to also do a good chunk of side content. Update. I bought it. Loading times aren’t too bad and haven’t had a bug yet. But I am on early days. Very lovely so far.

Does this game have a real time clock system like Animal Crossing or is it just an in-game clock like Stardew Valley? I'm thinking its the latter, but just wanted to be sure.

Playing this on Xbox Series X and the load times are noticeable on that. On Switch I'd imagine those 15 seconds load times quickly stack up for a frustrating time

Yep you need to unlock the cat farm so just do the missions for your dad and then buy the tools to unlock new areas. Mark

So torn with this; I think I like the idea of farming/life/cosy sim type stuff more than actually playing them most of the time. The only ones I've really liked are Animal Crossing, Wytchwood and Spiritfarer. I tried cozy grove but kinda hated it and was a bit gutted. Based on that info is there a chance I'd like it?! I just don't know if I'll like this one! Will keep it on my radar and wait for a sale maybe.

I’m so obsessed with it but the tools and items are so expensive, the lag irritates me a bit, I wish you can fish at your home place, I feel we should be able to walk faster instead of having to run so much, disappearing items, I wish we can jump, why can’t we name the cats or bring them home?, I hate waiting for the market, also I wish the villagers pay you cash for your services… also wish the hearts didn’t run down so quickly.

I really don't like that there is a mini game you have to do in order to collect/craft things. It's unique, sure. But timed events for chopping wood, fishing, AND crafting?? That sounds more annoying than fun imo.

I think the quality system mitigates that. For wood you get 5 pieces for timing it well, for crafting having the perfect product - it’s satisfying. Maybe they’ll introduce an auto crafting of certain things or something. Still it’s so fast I don’t mind at all. Mark

Love the main character. The way she moves is so cute. Shame it releases in the same week as "U suck at parking". It looses the Entire female audience. I'm not sure what I think of gender specific game releases.

@@DairunCates yes. It’s not questionable because of their score, it’s questionable because the presenter was a bit too comedic. Also I’m referencing that SwitchUp themselves commented on IGNs video that their review will be up soon

@@mollocativ607 Their review's not really overly comedic. It's not even particularly breezy in tone. If it was any less flavorful, it would've even been described by most people that do editing as "overly clinical". It certainly is a far cry from a goofy tear down that such a complaint would imply. The only real joke I can even really remember from the review is the line about how Bibo's Mom is lucky she had a kid named Bibo. Which is a fair jab.
