All the higher medium and numbers tones and numbers you dig, most are crap, you will get a couple of average keepers and prob one half decent find and sometime a grotty hammered or broken Roman brooch. Is it worth. The ratio is about the same. I have had endless choice finds and lots of gold and silver finds with low tones and numbers down to 2. You can get for example Roman coins that usually give a 12 and a medium tone come in at 2 with a low tone because it has a little blob of rust stuck to it or a rusty crust. In good conditions too. I've had silver Viking halfpenny come in at 2, lots of Styca's at 4, 5 and 6, thin gold rings with stones in at 2, 3, 4, gold and silver rings with an open break in them. Very small Tudor silver clothing fasteners, quarter Staters, thin Celtic silver units. On Roman and Medieval hotspots I clean up big time. Yep it's sure worth it. And your number of 100 crap to one half cut is way off 😀

I dug an iffy signal and found the Roman licking dog hoard that paid out £110k ,dig all iffy ones ,"if in doubt dig it out" don't go by numbers ,ears only,and someone said on FB the other day that they don't dig 18s ,the hoard of 6 gold sovereigns we found the last year we're all 18s

No the Nox isn't discriminating, some of the signals that are rubbish are also nice Celtic, Roman, Saxon, Viking Medieval, of copper, brass, bronze, pewter, silver and gold. So would you not dig dodgy signals that the Nox gives. The ratio is similar to the obvious signals. I can guarantee if you went on a well worked hotspot with me you would be shocked at what i find. Be careful as lots of obvious signals that say give an ID of 12 can be 2 on the extreme fringe of detection in iron with the Nox, ive had Cartwheel pennies and Serstertius give ID numbers below 10 right down to 3. But to witness this ki d of thing you need to be extreme in your detecting style 👍

By the way, if you have fe on 4 and don't have it all metal your losing depth, so put it in all metal and use F2 bias at 0. Also if you don't have sensitivity on full you lose depth so try use it at full sens. If your able to that is as you need to know what your doing and have a good steady slow swing technique.
