Minelab Manticore, junk targets, some multi vs single freq

Stir crazy again. Read about something i had missed before. Manual mentions that when in single frequencies only, it’ll place ferrous targets in vdi range of 1-19. In multi, the same target may show totally different vdi’s. I knew the 2D is changed and/or limited while in single frequency also. Just wanting to be more familiar with all this, trying to distinguish ironn/etc, for when i can go hunt again. Not exactly sure what i’m necessarily showing here, but if anything helps anyone somehow, cool… these were all targets that kinda tricked me with the 900 before.

Good demonstration. Looks like the 5 kHz does a good job of identifying big iron! I forgot about the ferrous range 1-19, I need to RTF again :) I tested 5 kHz with smaller pieces of metals, my results were OK, some of the plated metals and stainless steels sneak by. I'll be checking iffy signals with it for sure! 5 kHz picked up a fine gold chain better than any of the SMF. I didn't test all the single frequencies. The chain is almost undetectable in SMF. Beach Deep with Audio Enhanced, Rich threshold worked the best of all the SMF for the gold chain. 0.64 grams, 10kt necklace. Tks & HH

The only problem with the iron in the garden is no halo of the iron rusting into the soil.

You lose your upper/lower ferrous limits (iron bias) setting along with the 2D trace of targets into upper ferrous limits area when in single freq…but, yes, the manticore lumps all iron in single freq from 1-19 in the lower ferrous limits area . You lose iron bias setting in single freq on the Nox machines too.
