Yeah, wish Deus would just ditch the whole wireless nonsense, such a hassle to take apart antenna clips and charge separate components every night after long water hunts, versus Minelab's magnetic adapter that takes two seconds to just pop on so quickly. They did finally come out with stronger lower shaft and now there's aftermarket cf full shafts that negate my sturdiness complaints some, other than extra costs for all that. I've been know to revisit detectors I've sold, so who knows, lol. I'm outa commission for awhile anyhow now.

Yes, a very nice screen it has.

Had the same thing going on at my usual beach. The black magnetic sand is sorted in so heavily on the whole place., it was pretty much undetectable (til it re-sorts). Was non stop iron signals/sounds. Have seen this several times in the past, rendering any vlf useless at these times (maybe ok with a pi). Luckily, it doesn’t occur at all beaches here, just random until it all gets mixed up better. I could run stable up to 28/29 at this other area (different beach), with getting good depth. There was still magnetic/iron sand here, but it was mixed and not in thick layered bands that act like shields. Could be a bad issue if all your beaches have same make-up as where you tried? What had you ran previously there? This usually happens during winter here, then poof, all better, usually by summer (not all spots though). I welcome any D2 users to bring theirs to get humbled just the same, even with magnetic sand enabled, it sucks when the machine can barely see a shallow buried nickel, ask me how i know.

@@UABFWSS here in australia there is a lot of mineralized sand i run the whites beachhunter in the water witch is a great machine deep and quite when sei up,i wanted the manticore to replace my failing ctx,screen going,11 inch coil cable broken its allso effecting my shoulder because of the weight.maybe the manticore is only a land machine dissapointing.

If i didn’t in-water hunt as much as i do, i’d probably be content with the D2, its just mechanically weak and a hassle for highly frequent in-water use, imo. For my ex- mil, tinnitus ridden ears, i like the manticore audio better plus vibes), D2 seems mushy sounding to me. I can say they both can bring old picked-over parks back to life. Had equal amounts of rusty old stuff with both. I had trouble seeing the D2 screen also, the mcore screen is amazing, imo. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They are really close at deep coins. It can come down to settings that set them apart, but I think when XP updates the D2, there might be more of a difference. Both can false on old nails pretty bad (in parks I hunt), but both also squeak out deeper or highly masked silvers/coins that have been missed for years too. 900 also.

There is just lots of rust bits n flakes all over, its tricky just to hit lots of them. Just happens to be cleaner in some spots where old junk wasn’t parked. Plus i mighta made it too tough adding nails over some too.

Well,, it just depends. Nice thing about known buried targets, you can experiment with that. Sometimes, just the conditions of the day can change how it reveals things. Quite a deep seeking rig either way.

Mine didn’t survive the water hunting season. It did find me enough gold to pay for itself. Ended up getting another D2 for now.

@@prostreetdino8266 Ah, I’d only heard of one other prior. The warranty center had it replaced in a few days, but that kinda killed the whole water confidence factor. Hundreds of hours in freshwater submerged. I really like it otherwise.

Haven’t heard about one yet.

It’s a good machine and will add some finds above what a equinox can find, but its not perfect either. After the summer water season, I switched back to another deus 2, which is not perfect either, but i want to run this coming water season with it to see for myself.

Had the V3i, target ID is trash on that machine. Anything past 6 inches is way off on the numbers.

I just dug a 12” 1 Reale with the 900 no problem and it unmasks way better than the 800 on my river spots dont watch the screen just listen for those deep squeaks

@@markkus1134 Yep, 900 is definitely tuned up a bit compared to 800 and might almost be the way to go versus the manticore in some ways, although the 2D screen (at times) can give an advantage, but not always. Manticore might be running too hot for its own good.

I find it very irritating also, glad I didn't waste all that money on one, I bought the Legend for $550 and I'll find just as much with it as this squeaker will find! 😂😂
