First spin in the test garden. May have issue with the + button, I think I recall someone else having same issue with theirs recently. For the price, this thing is unbeatable and should be a great spare or starter+ machine. Does pretty good, considering etc.

Me Too and the X-Terra Pro wasn't out when I got the Simplex + and it has Some Seriously EMI Problem's AND THE tones are Sick and I went by the Talk of the testers and ordered it online without any tests from me before I ordered it and Notka Macro says that they have no more Updates for it and that's why I'm going to get a Minelab X-TERRA Pro Soon as I can and hopefully enter every contest that I can find and Win it.....

@@williamheacock4174 and now Notka Macro is selling it for much cheaper than what I originally bought it for and now I can't just take a little money off for what I paid for it, I now can't get the 250 that I thought it was a fair price but that is what it is selling new for now and I guess it will be collecting dust and that is a totally good sign that they are worried about the X-Terra Pro and the market share and I Noticed that on this video At the 9:20 Mark he's Is lowering the sensitivity and the VDI is stable and I think that's why ALOT of people that are having VDI Problem's are thinking that they can run full sensitivity all the time and I never do but If the target is there At 3 bars on the Simplex but anything higher than the Simplex VDI is just like the X-Terra Pro and people are looking for the Update to Fix the problem but If they would lower the sensitivity like he did and it was stabilized and not the Jumpy VDI and locked on the Target 🎯.....

@@williamheacock4174 I Now have the X-Terra Pro and it's a game changer for detecting and when it has a JUNK target it gives me the warbly target Tone's and also on the aluminum target ( can slaw ) it goes with the jumpy VDI and my sensitivity is at 12 but when I got the Quarter Tone and then the dime Tone it locked in on the target and the dime was among the aluminum trash and next to the park shelters and it told me that there's a great target there and I just slowed down my swing and zeroed in on it and the jumpy VDI isn't a problem for Me with the X-Terra Pro it just tells you that it's nothing to Dig and To find another target and when the targets are close to the top of the ground, it really let's you know that and I haven't tried a zero ground balance yet to get an idea of what it does Or doesn't do like some people that have Video's of the X-Terra Pro and my ground balance was At 65 At one Park and -6 At another time but I have only used it for maybe 🤔 3 hours and I don't have any kind of EMI Problem's like I have with the Simplex +, but I haven't went to the permission that told me that there's a better detector out there than the Simplex and it can't process Or function if EMI is close enough for it to go crazy MORE than the Simplex but the X-Terra Pro and the jumpy VDI is not a problem for me and just let's you know not to dig it if it doesn't lock on...... and If I was you I would go try out the X-Terra Pro and let the Simplex start to collect some dust..... Or if you have a chance to sell it but you don't like I haven't sold anything and I still have a Radio Shack detector that uses the threshold style that the higher end of Gold Detectors Use . But I'm happy with the X-Terra Pro and I wish that it would rain 🌧️ cause I'm only going for the Targets that are on the top of the ground, ....... and lower sensitivity and 10 is pretty low but still hitting Targets in the ground at 4 " inches deep but it's too Dry to dig and I don't want to leave Dig Mark's and get metal detecting kicked out of that Park.....

I want to buy my first device and can't choose between x-terra pro and vanquish. What would be better? I will search mostly on land, water resistance is not necessary
@UABFWSS
@UABFWSS Жыл бұрын
I've never had a vanquish, as I always need a detector for in the water. I would think the multi freq of vanquish would ID much much better/deeper than the x-terra pro does. The x-terra collapses extremely well, if packability is of any concern. Good luck with whichever you decide to get.

The vanquish is great for land, the multi-frequency will be worth it.

I would go with the X-Terra Pro and it's Water proof if you ever get caught in the rain and don't have to hurry up and get some shelter from the rain 🌧️ but for the jumpy VDI that It has And it is telling me not to dig it up cause it doesn't lock on the target and like it does on the Coin's and I haven't checked it out on the jewelry that I have to get an idea of what the Tone's are yet... but to me it's cheaper than the Vanquish Detector and if you have to go get it fixed by a accidentally water getting inside it and the Vanquish Detector isn't weather proof.....

Live videos of the X-Terra Pro show coins reading as iron in all frequencies, air tests from other videos show its limitations of depth are approximately 11 to 12 inches even with the 12 inch coil, but for people at the beach it's still a strong contender. Using old school Whites machines I found coins from the mid-1700s at no deeper than 9 to 10 inches, so target range depth is not the most important issue for me as a Nokta Simplex and Qwest Q10 Pro user, it's that casino slot machine sound of the Minelab and serious processing delay!. Notice the sounds are heard only after the coil has passed over the target. What I love about the Nokta Simplex is the old school threshold that enables you to find the deepest targets. Nokta plans to update the frequency of the Simplex from 12 to 15 MHz which will totally destroy its depth making the Minelab the leader of the pack, so sad. Any thoughts?

I assembled this, turned it on in the garage hobbled/walked out to test garden area while adjusting settings and recorded the video without ever trying the targets beforehand. I'm just planning on using this for a spare (if my main unit breaks), for a loaner (for friends/etc) and to have in my work vehicle. I expected much less, but also didn't expect too much for $269. It beeps and beeps on deeper stuff than detectors that cost a bunch more won't. I do mostly beach hunt in the water. Have seen the videos where it id's poorly too and it didn't seem to id that well here, didn't really expect it to. I've had a couple simplex, a couple anfibios and 3 legends since they came out, ran legends all last year, so am familiar with them also. This thing will stir up the budget market for sure. Being able to choose 3 freqs vs only 1 freq will likely sway many buyers. If Nokia upped the simplex to 3 selectable frequencies, then it'd be more of a battle obviously. These are good times for detectorists, with so many new evolving options/detectors galore.

@@UABFWSS After careful consideration reviewing more than 50 user videos I ended up ordering the X-Terra Pro, seeing this machine beat the Legend and Simplex Ultra in-depth tests was hard to belive lol. Just as I thought, the depth videos of the new Simplex Ultra has suffered using 15 MHz, combined with the new dog and cat squeak toy sound it was more than enough to end my brand loyal relationship with Nokta. Minelab has played Nokta like a fiddle :-)

@@UABFWSS The Minelab X-Terra Pro is very similar in air test depth as the Nokta Simplex, I'm sure the detection circuit is the same with the higher priced Equinox and Manticore models, if we the hidden service code menu for technicians, like televisions we could tweak up the sensitivity perimeters to 35 like the Manticore. Don't expect MinLab to offer a firmware update with a higher sensitivity as it would kill the sales of their Equinox Manticore. I would never spend more than $300 for metal detector, it's only a little box with one circuit board and a coil of wire, give me a break :-). This machine is awesome, why pay more!

I was told by Notka Macro that there's no more Updates for the Simplex + and I have told them also about At one of my permission that I can't use the Simplex At all And I was told to send them a email video to Notka Macro And too the tech center in the United States and I will have it on my KZfaq Channel page, but it's going to be a few weeks before I can get back to the permission and Film it and get it sent out... and the delay that you are taking about could possibly be the Camera and it's processing lagging and not everybody can afford the best camera to Film with and you will get a slow delay If it's not......

Your main problem is from your video you turn the machine on and go without ground balancing or doing a noise cancel. Then all you chenge is the recovery speed and still swing the machine at the same pace, with lower recovery speed you are telling the machine you are looking for deeper targets and should be swinging way slower than what you are. The problem with these videos is the people doing them haven't learned the machines but take them out of the box and want to make a video just to get views even if they don't know what they are doing or how to use the functions on the machine. Great video on how not to do a "test" but bet you enjoy the views.

Not amazing. Just a note when you lower recovery speed you have to slow your swing. Otherwise your test at that recovery speed is a bit pointless. Not that it seems it would have mattered much since these are all pretty deep targets and the machine is struggling.

Considering it's a $269 detector, that does better than any machine costing over twice as much, better than a simplex and obliterating what a $600 AT Pro could ever do on the same targets, I'd say it's quite the budget phenom. It'll just be an emergency spare for me and ride in the work vehicle. As far as recovery speeds etc, often, not pointlessly, machines will react in ways that aren't necessarily supposed to happen. Like on these deep coins with rusty iron bits all around them, the "usual" lower recovery speeds perform worse than higher ones, there's usually a certain mix with swing speed vs recovery etc and it's not always in line with basic principle. So in using non normal things, sometimes you find the quirks, like on these targets using a Legend, if you try the deep coins with low recovery speeds, it'll miss or barely spit/sputter/clip unless you use a higher speed of like 5 or 6. Similarly with others also.
