Minesweeper Online - Why do some players have negative amethyst on their profiles?

On May 7, 2021, players noticed that some low-difficulty and high win rate large boards were profitable for farming amethyst when it reached a certain number of the win streak. Many active players spent hours hunting the win streak and got lots of gems and event points. Since the rewards were incredibly high, players reported to WoM then played the boards for fun because they knew that WoM would fix the bug sooner or later and take away all the resources in those games. Within 24 hours, WoM fixed the bug and retrieved all the rewards. Players who spent the amethyst got negative numbers on their profiles and gradually pay back the amount they used until today.

Wow,I didn't thought that. I think first is that they get them first to purchase the equipment first and then pay Back to WoM later XD

lol yeah they, including me, spent the "illegal rewards" before WoM took it back. we knew that would happen but still did it cuz it's fun hahaha. may i know which player you are? :)
