Rob, you are my hero. You instructions saved the day! 2006 Mini Cooper S R53 BEFORE I watched your video: I built an apparatus to hold the slave cylinder plunger all the way down when I installed it. But I installed it dry. I could not get enough pedal pressure, no matter what I tried. AFTER I watched your video: I unbolted the slave cylinder from the bell housing, but left it connected to the hydraulic line. Then used your technique of bleeding the slave cylinder by actuating it's own plunger. Opening and closing the bleed screw appropriately. Then I left the bleed screw open when I reinstalled the slave cylinder onto the bell housing, which of course compressed the plunger again, discharging more fluid. Tightened everything up and TADAAA, nearly perfect pedal pressure! I can't believe that worked for me, all inspired by your video. Thanks a Million!

Great video. Quick and dirty. I've been fighting my wife's slave cylinder for 5 hours. This looks a way better process.

I did my clutch too and whrn everything put bqck together I step on the clutch peddle and it's just say down there lock. I have to use my hand to pop back out. so it been sitting there for couple days cuz i didn't know what to do. so this method will help?

Have a 06 mini cooper base convertible replaced slave cylinder bled it out and clutch pedal.still stays to the floor have to pull it up by hand. Any ideas what to do next?

my cliutch grinds also and it's hard to shift

I have a 2002 mini and yesterday out of the blue clutch pedal just stuck to floor. Couldn’t shift obviously had to shut car off to switch gear. No puddle under car never had this problem with a clutch before. Always had non hydrologic with VW’s. Doin have a master or something behind the pedals, ? Ah this sucks

hey rob after I replace my clutch slave cylinder on my 2002 mini cooper because I was leaking now the car won't start up ! the pedal it looks normal can you help me ?

Just use plumber's strap and 2 bolts and nuts, depress the slave hookup the line, then release the slave, bolt it up and your done.

Hey so i believe my slave cylinder went bad one day just lost all pressure on my clutch wouldn't go in gear at all. So got a new slave. Bled the whole system like you did on here gaining more and more pressure but the clutch is still not engaging enough I'm not getting enough pressure from the slave to push the pressure plate in. Do I have to do this alot. Clutch in release the bleeder close the bleeder then clutch out. How long does it take I did it for like an hour???

The brake master cylinder is not the clutch master, they do share the reservoir.

That'll probably work. Gonna give it a shot. I hate this car
