Mini Fridge Not Cooling FIX! Ex. Emerson CR282

In this video I show you how to fix a mini fridge that is not cooling. If your mini refrigerator is all of the sudden not working it is more than likely because the starter relay or overload protector has gone bad. This is a simple fix and I am linking the part below for Emerson mini fridges. The process should be similar on a lot of different brands and models. This specific model is the Emerson CR282P. There is a chance that the compressor went bad on you also, but it's worth the few bucks to give this a try first rather than tossing the fridge.

I had to come back here and say thank you. It worked. I was really pissed when this little guy broke too as it’s been a great little fridge. I’ve got it in the garage for “drinks”. It’s covered with stickers from places visited and I was thinking I’d have to part with it. Thanks man!

Hi. Can you please help me. I recently bought a used Avanti 310 VFYWH Mini Freezer. It was freezing when I picked it up and brought it home. But after giving it a good cleaning, It only gets cold/freeze on the right side of the freezer. Could it be the fan, relay or need freon?

I ordered one with a 2 prong starter relay, but still doesn’t work. The old one has prongs at 1&2, new Amazon has prongs at 2&3. Does that matter?

Well this relay I have is 2 pin and the one you referred to was 3 pins I can’t find two pins can you please show how connect it wiring wise

Hi, thank you for that video. Question, before my fridge stopped cooling, it made hammering noises for about 2weeks. The motor is still going, only it doesn't cool. Silly question here... I can't find the exact 2 (same side) pin starter. Does it matter if it's the same sided like the original or can the pins be in a different configuration? I also see 3 pins. Which one should I get?

What are the symptoms of a bad starter relay? Does the compressor not work at all, so the fridge doesn't cool at all? Or does it get a little cool? Mine is just not quite cold enough, so the compressor is working. Thank you for making this video!!!

Our shall frig cools but not quite well enough. You could put sodas in there but nothing else bc it wouldn’t be cool enough. With that being said, would this part be the reason you think it won’t cool quite enough ? Probably worth a try but I wanted to ask to see for sure . Thanks 🙏🏻

Mine looks exactly the same so I ordered part in description and everything is the same except my black piece has 2 prongs. Can only find 1 prong and 3 prong ones online.🤯

Was the compressor is like warm or hot before installing a new set? It's been one day the refrigerator broke down and not connected to a power source but the compressor is like so warm as if it was running a min ago, is that normal ? I'm nervous lol

What if I unplugged the mini fridge to thaw the freezer , then the freezer starts bubbling thru a hole in the ice, and now I got it all cleaned and when I plugged it up it wasn’t getting cold and smells like something burning..?? What should I do??

Don''t know if anyone checks in on this for questions or comments, but I just attempted this same repair and it worked!......for about 5 five days. I replaced the two parts indicated, plugged, cooled right down over night and thought awesome. Unfortunately a few days later it the temp had risen and unit was making a very soft hum. Soooooo if anyone has other ideas as to what may be causing one of two parts talked about here (overload protector and start relay I believe) would appreciate the help.

try the thermostat sensor, another cheap part. plugs in to the plate in the inside, back side. ABSOCOLD has 2 screws.
