Well Jimny is now available at crazy discounts (upto 3+Lakh). The automatic variant now costs even less than Brezza AT Vxi. Now for 12L on road price, a RWD with Body on Ladder frame, also 4x4 and a 4 seater is being offered with 5 doors. The petrol engine requires even less maintenance with full (oil-change) service costing around Rs.2.5K. The low repair and maintenance costs have always been the USP of Maruti Suzuki. And it will be valid for 15 years of ownership and even the used car market will stay crazy for Jimny. (just like for Gypsy) Being a petrol engine, the car will also never cause issues of startup in snow or low temperatures unlike Diesel.

As far as water wading capacity is considered, Force Gurkha has even lower water wading capacity due go its factory fitted snorkel. Without snorkel, every vehicle including Thar may fail as the water goes deeper. By definition, Thar and Gurkha are 4x4 Trucks. While Jimny is just a 4x4 car. All have their own merits and demerits. Gurkha has better ingress-egress due to the rear captain seats and larger cargo volume along with highly reputed Mercedes engine 2.6L engine. People tend to believe that Royal Enfield is meant to do Leh-Laddakh (I have had 500cc Desert Storm EFI since 2012 btw) but to everyone's surprise, I encountered a couple of college boys from Punjab doing the same trip with a 97cc Splendor along with a pillion rider. Of course, 97cc is in no comparison to 500cc engine but the ground reality and practicality are far from paper specs. Jimny with reduced prices (at around 12.5L on road) is a more value-for-money 4x4 off-roader and can also be used as a primary car in crowded traffic areas in urban cities due to its sleeker body. The petrol engine of Jimny does not give startup issues as the Diesel does in low temperatures of snowy regions. But also 90% of Royal Enfield and Thar owners never go off-road. Most just buy those for their Macho looks that Jimny or splendor certainly don't deliver.

Hey mate, Brezza base model, which is barebones, monocoque platform and FWD costs 8.2 lakhs, so why must a 4x4 offroad built on Body on frame construction cost 8.9 lakhs? The 10.7 Lakhs right now is the best price one can expect for a Jimny, because now its the same as RWD Thar. It does have alot of part sharing, though its important to note, that Jimny is a lifestyle offroad vehicle. Its not made to be extremely spacious or practical. However it still provides a more spacious and better second row experience and a usable Boot that its rival Thar doesn't. Also for 3 lakhs cheaper price, the Jimny is still considerable more loaded than the Thar.
