I hate when moms rant on KZfaq about the negative aspects of motherhood and then they have to preface it with "of course I love my kids and I'm so grateful for them blah blah blah". Like obviously it's a given that you love your kids no one's questioning that, I just find it sad that when you're a mom you're not allowed to be human and feel emotions that aren't always sunshine and rainbows. And I feel you Mama, with the pandemic and working from home I found myself that I wasn't getting dressed or putting myself together for weeks and so I made a conscious effort that at least on the weekends I would try and put on some makeup and wear something that's not the three pairs of leggings that I am in rotation and I have to say it has done wonders for my mental health to look in the mirror and look somewhat human LOL

I really needed that little mom talk. 😩 i’ve been feeling like this lately and I only have one child. It can be so hard to be a stay at home mom and feel like you never have time for anything. But we are all in this together 💕 your videos keep me sane.

I agree with you. Being a mother should not mean that we are obliged to lose ourselves. When a mom says she is tired, it shouldn't mean that she doesn't want to be a mother anymore or that she doesn't love her kids. We are human beings too. Loving our kids doesn't mean unloving ourselves.

I have been suffering so bad mentally. I try to block it out. I’ve been doing my makeup (it’s what makes me happy) I feel better, I feel clearer minded. I feel better about my self while being a mother who goes no where and literally lives for her kids and husband. I feel you 100% and there is nothing wrong with us mothers wanting to still have our own identity while being parents! It’s insane what you can get judged for. I don’t understand like these people act like they live a perfect life! (Ya right!)

Riley helping in the kitchen is how I feel when I help my gma in the kitchen ... Very cute. I'm glad she is helping out and you are letting her, i read an article recently about why some children are more helpful than others and it had to do with the how the parents reacted to the kids wanting to help. Good stuff. ❤️

Wow thank you so much Kayla !!!! That pep talk resonated with me deeply. I’m so happy I’m not the only one bc when i think about my moods i feel so guilty and put myself down. However, as much i love my children !!! I can’t pour from an empty cup. Before my children i would always fix myself even to go grocery shopping now i barely brush my hair after my second child. A year post partum and warm weather ahead 😍😍 I’m trying to find myself with obvious mix of mommy in between lol. Your raw and open self is helpful !!! Lol

I 100% relate to your pep talk, after I became a mum I kind of lost part of my identity n I started conscientiously doing things to make me feel good and invest in my mental physical n emotional health. Like i dress in nice clothes, altho it's different to my pre mama style, I do my makeup almost everyday, I've gone back to work, I do a Pilates class. These things r so important for me and I've learnt that a happy fulfilled mama is a good mama!

Just a tip for the streaking with the makeup try using a sponge after applying the cc cream with the brush or just using the sponge to avoid the streaks and for the creasing with the concealer try using a setting powder after applying. Fit me by Maybelline is a great drugstore option. I hope this helps. I love watching your videos and congrats on your silver creator award, you’re always so relatable and raw with us! Thank you for the pep talk. I was feeling like crap for taking time for myself. Jackson had me cracking up with reaching down your shirt. When my daughter was his age she pulled at the collar of my shirt and looked down my shirt. She then looks down her shirt and then looks down my shirt again. She looked at me very confused.

Oh Kayla!!! Thanks for uploading everyday this week! Such a treat! I have two kids one is four and other is one. Usually I put the one year old in his sister’s room when I try to get ready in the morning 😂 His sister love him so much she gets so excited he is finally awake and he is also so excited to be able to play with his sister! That usually buys me at least half an hour in the morning! My one year old also talks too which surprised me coz most of my friends boys talks a lot later, so I was expecting him to start talking a lot later! I think Jackson is fine.

I have been in the same mood lately! I have an almost 3 year old and 7 month old. It’s rough to always have to put everyone else’s needs before your own. I work from home full time as well and have since my first was born. I just recently put the kids in daycare a couple of days a week since Covid is pretty low in our area and it has been the best thing. I go back and forth on feeling guilty because I’m home so I feel like they should be home with me all the time but then my husband reminds me that people who work full time in an office don’t take their kids to work with them for a reason.. it’s so hard to balance it all! I get so much done and feel like I enjoy them so much more when they are home now that I get that break! Also, my toddler was about the same as Jackson speaking wise at that age and hit a speech explosion around 2 😊

I can totally related to the clothes thing. Since becoming a mom over two years ago I really haven’t worn anything outside of leggings and pjs. Now that I’ve lost a ton of weight and I’m back to my high school weight, I’ve been buying clothes that are definitely different than what I’ve been wearing. It’s such a happy feeling though and I feel like me again finally for the first time in a long time. Also getting back into makeup which has been nice too

I always roll leftover cookie dough into balls that are ready to pop in the oven, and freeze them. So usually like 1-2 tablespoon balls and freeze in a ziplock bag. Then just pop some in the oven when you want fresh cookies. I always prep my dough for a month or 2 so I don’t have to constantly make new things 😂

My baby is 16 months old and she's barely repeating things this past week. I also do flash cards with her every day and repeat things to her. She's more advanced in motor skills and understands even the smallest things we say to her so don't fret. Her pediatrician said she's totally fine 😊

Hi Kayla, can you give tips on how you avoid being resentful to your husband for you being the one to care for the kids all day? I struggle with not feeling resentful to my husband who only gets my 2 year old at night because he works. Would really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

I suffered with severe PPD for a while. My baby is now past 1 year old and I still struggle with deep depression so idk if that's considered PPD probably not lol but my mental health has struggled a lot after having my baby and getting ready even if it's just 10 mins definitely helps me even if it's just a little on a really hard day

I love those shorts! And a quick tip - try curling your hair with a hair straightener. I find my curls last for days with a straightener but with a curling iron they're gone so fast.

I am in the same situation with my son who is 15 months as well. He doesn’t say many words. My daughter was talking a lot by this time so it sometimes is concerning but every child is different.

Just fyi as a licensed cosmetologist, purple toning shampoo can be VERY drying and we typically only recommend to use it about once a week and use something else on the other days. That particular one may be fine, just wanted to give you a heads up so your lovely locks stay beautiful and healthy! Maybe just bring it with you next time you get your hair done and get your guys professional opinion. Or not, thats ok too haha! Just thought I'd put that put there for you.

I can relate. You are so lucky because Riley aren't scared of being alone in her quiet time. While my daughter clingy all the time. Wherever I am, she will be there. If she can't see me a second, she will scream and cry because scared of being alone. Even when I have to poop I needed to bring her along with me inside the bathroom and I am stressed out. I dont even have me time the moment she wakes up. I only able to do that at night after she sleeps. I feel frustrated sometimes, angry and mad and feels like I'm going crazy because she won't let me be alone and I dont know what else to do to get those free time to be able to do something on own. Before this, I can do that but now not anymore. Not that I dont want her around or that I dont love her, but I just need a moment to be able to do my own things sometimes, you know.

The butterfly shirt is cute but here's the thing. I never realized how much girl stuff is blue and teal until I had a girl. I like blue and teal, I just don't love it. The pink and purple sells out and then there's a sea of blue and teal girl clothes left behind to choose from. It's been a source of frustration for me, I especially have ended up with a lot of navy blue girl clothes somehow. I'm really girly and I would rather have purple. Also, I'm sure your doctor will reassure you but A “Late Talker” is a toddler (between 18-30 months). I feel like boys tend to be slower than girls. My first was a boy he was a little late compared to his peers. My daughter, age 1, emulates/imitates words and has been since she was about 10 months old. My oldest son he's 12 now and talks wayyyy too much lol.

This might be a weird question but do you just put diapers on under the swimsuit? It’s about to be pool time here in Texas and I don’t know what to put my 9 month old in under his swimsuit.

Swim diaper. They make disposable ones and reusable ones. If your baby wears a regular diaper, it will absorb the water and become very huge and could bust.

Thank you! He normally wears the pocket cloth diapers. Do anyone know if those can work as swim diapers? Or is it better to get the ones specifically for swimming?
