Dr. David Spach provides an in-depth introduction into the Biology of HIV-1 via a basic overview of the structural feature of HIV, the genome, and each of the major types of proteins: structural proteins, enzymes, accessory proteins, and regulatory proteins. This mini-lecture lays the foundation for understanding the HIV life cycle and the mechanism of action of antiretroviral therapy.
