I will show you how I made these cute mini fairy houses with a slight resemblance to a toadstool, hope you'll find it useful and inspirational to make your own fairy houses. It has certainly inspired me to make more!

DISCLAIMER: I can’t guarantee that my techniques and the materials I use will suit everyone. I can only share with you what I know based on my experience.
Materials are examples and suggestions and may or may not be the same ones I used, do read the item's description before buying.
🍓 BAKING TIPS:
I bake my polymer clay pieces in a kitchen oven at 110 -125ºC for 30 minutes.
I pre-bake them at the same temperature for 10-15 minutes depending on the size of my piece.
Baking your polymer clay several times or for longer than 30 minutes won't burn your clay as long as you don't exceed the recommended temperature of 130ºC. It's not about the time, it's about the temperature.
Do not exceed 130ºC or you will burn your polymer clay.
Always read the baking instructions for your particular brand of polymer clay, as temperatures and times may vary slightly.

Yes they are definitely cute... thanks for the tute. a couple of questions if you don't mind, do you paint them after curing? and is it just acrylic paints you use with a finishing glaze? also what is that you are dipping the base in. I'd appreciate your help as I am just beginning and need all the advice I can get. your tutorial is great.

Hi, yes I use acrylic paints to paint them after curing and glaze them with Fimo gloss varnish. I dipped them in craft sand. All the materials are listed in the description, hope this helps :)

These are adorable. I made some for terrariums, but what glaze or sealant would you recommend? It seems like regular glaze degrades in the humidity of the terrarium.

+jamie handley Mmm...I honestly don't know the answer. On the one hand the glaze has to be water based to be compatible with polymer clay, maybe the terrarium wasn't totally sealed, and that's how it gets humid? I've never done a terrarium before so I can's suggest a different type of glaze. Maybe you could try a polymer clay forum. Hope this helps :)

Great video with simple techniques for starters like me, I am wondering what the tools are that we see briefly in the video - a quick look and I see there are a lot of different ones available from different suppliers. I'd be interested to know what you use or would recommend (if unbranded then any specifics you can provide would be useful). Thank you very much!

HI Johnny, thanks! I have used quite a lot of different tools over the years, but in general they are always the same ones. I have filmed a video about it called "tools and materials", it's easier if you watch that...my tools haven't changed that much ^_^

I always bake at 110ºC for no longer than 30' at a time. I sometimes also cover my pieces with a dome of foil or oven proof dish so that they are protected from direct heat and they cure evenly.

What kind of glue do you use? And what type of glaze?

Something like UHU Universal glue or Aleene's Tacky glue. As for glaze, I've used several like FIMO Gloss, Sculpey, Americana (Gloss and Matte).

That is gorgeous but on an unrelated note..... do you not find that polymer clay reacts with your nail varnish? I have yet to find a type that stays on more than an hour after working with clay :-(

+Hannah Thompson Yes, nail polish should not be used on polymer clay. I have said so in many videos, you only glaze your polymer clay with water based varnish. FIMO has its own gloss, which I really like. But there's different brands and types of finishes.

leyla rodriguez Creo que en este caso se podrian hacer de porcelana fria porque son bastante gruesitos por lo que serian mas resistentes. Si probas a hacerlos contame como te salieron ;)

I get my clay on Amazon or Ebay, or other websites especially for clay like clayaround. Sometimes local shops when I need it in a hurry.
