@@nataliekolenic4352 You bring up a very good point! It's a little embarrassing because I have studied canine ethology for over fifty years and would never own a purebred dog. It's horrific what irresponsible breeders have done with them over the last 300 years! Now we have a lot of pretty dogs that have lost their working ability and have a one in four chance of suffering a serious genetic illness. When people ask for my opinion about getting a certain breed, I tell them to go to the shelter and get a mutt that weighs over 39 pounds ;-)

My shetland knows how to get attention....he bites you. Shetland can really be little shits. I dont believe in having single animals so I got him a friend..a white donkey. I planned on keeping them in adjacent pens which last five minutes. Cody crawled under the bars of his pen and then crawled back into his pen. They are true monsters.

When we lose great love, like Bunny, God heard you because your a good tender heart. He knew your pain and sent you Yahtzee, and I am sure that Bunny was saying to God "yep, this is good. This will help her". We love you.

Animals, pets or otherwise, that seek you out or come to you for pets and affection are the best thing ever. Followed closely, by waking up in the middle of the night, and realizing you still have 5 hours left before you have to get up.

Thank you for rescuing not just Yahtzee, but the beautiful blonde baby too. It is so amazing to watch that process of them acclimating, realizing it safe, realize it's even loving, and they come into their own. I've seen it in a similar but different ways with dogs and cats either adopted. Sometimes you can tell if they've got a horror story in your childhood by a reticence that never leaves, my current cat - gun shy. But he has learned to receive love and how to give love, if anything he's a real daddy's boy. We sleep together every night and hang out, he'll be in whatever room I'm in. Sometimes looking at me, make that staring, and sometimes seemingly guarding me. Facing the door full on.
