Mini surface drive performance mud boats ripping in shallow water, Lilly pads, cattails and mud. 12’ Jon boats with mud skipper surface drive kits and 420 predator engines with 32mm carb, custom exhaust, port & polished head with 50lbs valve springs. Modified skeg and stainless 9.5” prop.

Dude, this is probably one of the best mud motor videos on KZfaq. I really like seeing people videoing some of these smaller flatbottoms with some actual speed.

I didn't think anything was as bad as an airboat. Mud boats are just as loud and 1/4 the speed. Really gives you time to savor the blasting sound as I sit in the swamp tring to fish.

@ericbest9562 You obviously have never spent any time in a Florida swamp. They take those lawn mower engines and build them very hot with straight pipes. It way louder than a Harley with open pipes. It really ruines the trip.

Had to do some cutting and welding to make it a little stronger and perform a little better in our environment but it has been a pretty good little kit for the money!

Thanks. It’s not a bad kit for the money, as soon as you get it do some cutting and welding on it and it will save you headache in the long run, it will also had reliability.

What kind of speed are you getting out of them?

Around 25 one person and around 22-23 with two people and a 25qt cooler. I also always have a marine battery, some gear(tools, tackle, safety) and 3-5 gallons of fuel.

Is this chain driven? If so any issues with the chain?

Yes! Knock on wood, haven’t had any issues with the chain yet.

Here in our county the lily pads are invasive and they actually spray to kill them. We are actually doing good by cutting trails
