I must admit the fact a full sized Owen can fit in the boot of the MG Metro has me sold and now wanting to own one. I also think it's a little more interesting than the Mini. Everyone has a Mini and knows what it is and finds them special, it's a rarity to not see one at any classic car show. However you rarely see a MG Metro, in fact most people don't really know much about the MG Metros. I personally would enjoy a almost "Big Car" (the youtuber) style video on the Metro if you would be interested in making one with a bit of OG Cars twist.

We certainly agree, the Metro is much lesser seen at shows etc! The Mini is a cult classic and loved by many, and it is great, but we do love the underdog. Thanks for your feedback, admittedly I may have looked at this but the Metro has since sold unfortunately!

We had a mini, loved it. My primary school teacher had a secession of metros, back then she was one of the few people who could afford a brand new car, i remember she had octagon shaped glasses 🤓 im 54, she's probably kicked the bucket by now...

Still prefer original Mini, but with hydrolastic suspension! Trouble with the Metro was they were rotting before they got off the production line!

There were build quality "problems" but I think the Metro was the worst. Allegros, Maxis and others didn't seem as bad!

Only going off what I’ve seen so far, the Minis have been much rustier than the Metros, but I think all the classics I’ve dealt with have been known for ‘rot problems’ 😂 The nature of the beast but that’s the game we play!

@OGCars Amazingly, when it comes to RUST, they say where you LIVE has an effect, on whether your car will rust! Apparently, if you live by the SEA, the air is more salty, and can rust cars more in that region!

Not a big fan of injection minis runs a bit hotter on spi and mpi for my Liking

It was certainly easier going than my 1.0 Mini mk3 was but this was much better looked after!

I had both, back in the day....the MG Metro handled better than the mini.

Interesting to hear, I definitely thought it had a better ride but couldn't quite match in the twisties!

However NEITHER of them can compete with the MINI ESTATE car! A more practical shape, being squarer at the back - and a bit longer at the back too. Not only more room for luggage - but SAFER, because the back is just TOO short in case somebody runs into¹ the BACK of you., on the saloon Mini, and such cars!

I do like a classic Mini estate, a Clubman estate or early Mini van would be nice... very spenny though! I do miss my Mini - the Metro was fun too and while it made a better daily I think I'd love to have a Mini again someday!
