It was really interesting to see you shrink your process down to a day in order to see where all your time goes in your longer builds. Custom pieces do take so much time but end up being worth it in the end when you are going for a certain idea. However, this was great to see that you can still get a story and a bit of mystery so quickly out of purchased items! What a great way to encourage someone new to just jump in and give that abandoned vibe a try!

Random tangent on fabric. I discovered that nylon material, like stockings (with the very thin/fine threads makes for pretty realistic miniature fabric). Don't recall if you've used it before, worth a shot if you havent.

Wow, for some reason, the end shots really moved me on this one. I don't know, I felt sad. It was like you could sense the sadness of the house now that it had been abandoned. I noticed too, before you asked for comments on it, how much I enjoyed you talking as you worked, rather than a voice over. It felt more personal, like we were sitting in your studio watching you work, lol. I would love to see more videos done in this format. And this observation goes back to my original comment about the sadness, but I think your end shots really did look more realistic. I felt like I was actually there in that room. Great work, as always!

I really dig the new format. It's always cool to hear your thoughts about creating these masterpieces! One thing that broke the immersion a bit for me was the drawer on the floor. The lacquer on the top edge looked like it was Millimeters thick instead of a couple of tenth of millimeters. I never thought that subsurface scattering could break the immersion instead of help creating it. But this shouldn't be considered as a complaint of mine! I would never be able to create such an amazing diorama.

You're an artist. Fact. This looks astonishingly real. You do fantastic work, and making dolls' house furniture look full sized, is a real skill. It's like one of the many abandoned rooms that feature in H.P. Lovecraft stories. The rifled drawer on the floor is a nice touch. The only thing I, personally would have done, would have made a custom mirror, with a distorted, screaming face looking out of it. I know that's not what you were aiming for, but since I was a kid, I've found mirrors to be ever so slightly creepy. Watching old movies like 'Dead Of Night', or 'From Beyond The Grave' didn't help. Your room is brilliant. And not one in which to linger.

Howdy, this was so fun. Great to see purchased items transformed. I love what you do however you wish to do them. Long or short - love your processes. Thank you so much for sharing. Oh, that curtain shaping tool I must recreate - that was so cool. The finale, the perfect way the light shone thru; the shadows cast; swirls of dust brought - all brought this forgotten room to life for me. At times it made me feel nostalgia and other times an eerie feeling. How great ! lol

WOW! first time viewer. Love Miniatures and I love abandoned/haunted locations.....NEVER thought about combining the two. The end result is fantastic. So the end shots looking realistic, yes absolutely; I thought the dusty ambience through natural light coming through the windows which also looked like they were overlooking a backyard and of course all the smallest of details helped solidify it into being a 'real' looking abandoned location. So cool! Got yourself a new subscriber! It was too funny after watching the process with miniatures and the ENORMOUS CAT jumped up on the counter.

Man you do good stuff. It would be so cool to have the curtains move a little from a breeze. IDK how you could do that in scale though. Maybe even a string attached to the curtains that you could pull, off camera? Or super-thin fabric and canned air? Anyway, take care - Bill.

Side note. Hobby lobby does try to screw the buyers. Lol. Seriously tho. Watch the prices. I spent around 400 there one day. The first object in front said 9.99$ The next one behind it priced at 10.99. Then 9.99. Then 11.99. I was like uhhhh. Why aren't they all the same price? The lady said they price items on consumer demand. I laughed and said that's not how this works and it wouldn't be priced in a way where the cheaper is placed at the front so you don't see the other prices. Mind you it's all the same product!!! Lol. Anyway just a heads up. By catching this. I saved 68$

Your videos are amazing. So are your sets. The intro shot with your hand in the "room" was a little shocking, because your hand shows the real scale. Remove hand... Perfect scale. Good reference -to-scale shot... Love seeing the cat "help" you, ....and at the best part.... the end... Your photography/video skills? Magic. I adore your videos, can't think of anything you could do to improve them! And.... This shows you don't need to hand make everything, your skills are good enough to make any props, hand or pre-made, look abandoned. Two thumbs up. :D

Taking pieces from a craft store that people can purchase (if they want to), and being able to recreate the project or make something similar is a great idea! Great format, and project. The atmosphere in the room probably had some sort of smoke and that really helped. It occurs to me that if the light from the window could fall on the oval frame and bounce back off it might add just a little bit of extra drama. Especially if it was a domed mirror. Love the video and the project - can't wait to see more!

I’m so glad I found you via Ara @Bentley House Minis! I love this format and your passion for what you create. It’s an amazing aesthetic and I’m really inspired. I’m pretty new to miniatures but doing a project like this…this video in particular makes me feel I can actually do it with my limited skill set. So much talent!
