Sharing miniature fairy house No.5 DIY idea. In this clay craft project, I use dry brush painting technique. I was worried in the beginning that my mini house will look rugged or weird but it turns out beautiful and I like it so much. What do you think?
Also, the fairy seems has lots of budget this time, so I build the house on a big plot of land with roof top garden ha..ha..ha....that's just my imagination.
But...really, with this kind of house design, we have plenty of possibility to play with it. Look! We can bring the garden inside. Cut weeds, grasses, little daisy flower. Sorry..I don't know the correct name of the flower we have at the backyard. And...Voila! We have a fairy garden house in a minute. It’s fun, isn't it?
By the way, I have created a planter too. For those green thumb people, you can plant miniature succulents or other indoor plant in there. But, I will leave it empty this time so I can put my favorite rosemary as "life" potpourri. Ehmm...I don't think there is such term but when the rosemary dry, I can call it potpourri, right? LOL
Alright! You may wondering what type of air dry clay I use for this clay house project. As usual, I use homemade clay - homemade paper clay precisely. I think is nice but a little different because you are using the paint without any dilution of the paint but looks great. The only thing I saw is the roof that you may put some red and less green plus a little twisted tree against the bottle tower and some sponge little bushes around the stairs !this is my imagination! but yours looks beautiful, trust on this. I'm an artist, a painter and I do leather embossing and pyrographyng too, and I love fairy houses. I used to have a full town when I was around 14, I start when I was 7 so you can imagine how many I have, but I lost them in a fire. Well let me tell you this: You are a great artist with so much talent. I don't know how busy you are but you can upload a daily video if you want. God bless you abundantly. Ray

Very nice! Dry brushing isnt quite as simple as it seems, it's taken me a couple of projects to get the paint ratio right. Lol I love the fact you painted it all black then all dry brush THEn added specific colour... what is the reason you did that?

I love your ideas and the final pieces! 😍 you make me try it by myself but i always have the same problem: my clay breaks during hardening 😨 maybe you can give me tips? Its not in the sun or near any heat.. Maybe its happening because its a normal air drying clay? Im too lazy to make paper clay 😂🙈 Greats! Lisa

You are so right, there is beauty in imperfection, just as much as there is beauty in perfection; true artists see and know this very well. We can see beauty in dereliction too. As an artist myself, I don't want pristine, where's the fun in that, or beauty? Aging of a building shows time past, history, admiration, beauty... Lovely miniature fairy garden house! It's authentic in design; as, of course, one imagines a fairy house to be. :)
