A video about my minimalist Christmas decor 2020.
If you've followed me for a while you know I like to keep things simple. All year around but also around Christmas. I don't have a ton of decor but I do enjoy decorating for Christmas in a minimal way.
Over here it's tradition to start decorating for first of advent which this year was the last Sunday of November. Before that it's rare to see any decorations in private homes other than string lights.
I get so many questions about the things in my apartment and what I like and wear so I've collected links for many of them below.

Lovely, as usual. You speak so much about how dark it gets in Sweden during the winter, it might be cool if you made a video at night with nothing but your indoor lights and candles for illumination. You don't even need to do anything. Just some of your beautiful camera work accompanied by some peaceful music. Sort of a minimalistic "yule log."

I know it’s like each street is a competition for who has more money for constant decorations and lights on all night. Nothing is just simple and elegant. It’s all over the top. It’s awful. And I don’t know what any of it really has to do with the holiday...

Usually I prefer a minimalist approach but when it comes to Christmas, all bets are off! I love all the decorations but am too lazy to do much myself - I would hate having to take all that down after the holiday is over. But I do still appreciate others' efforts. My partner and I go for walks most nights around the neighborhood - when we find a really over the top one, we'll look at each other and say 'wow. now that's commitment!" It's become one of our catch phrases. :)

I love this simple decor. I find it so much more pleasing to look at than some of the whole house decorating with multiple trees, seasonal cushions and linens etc.

My mum lived in Stockholm for 10 years. I really miss the beauty and the atmosphere of the city. It’s really magical especially around Christmas.

This video makes me happy! When we moved to California I left all Christmas decoration Europe. Here we have socks for everyone and green fir tee branches in the vase with Maileg mouses my daughters were playing with before. Couple of Nutcrackers. I also bought white paper light stars from Ikea to windows. And lot's of candles. This year I'm going to make some sort of Himmeli too. I make natural crafts with Middle School kids and this week I teach them how to do basic Himmeli so I will have some for my self too.

Yes! For me the lights are also the most important part. Throughout winter I find myself moving around the house from little pool of light to another little pool of light!

So nice Benita, simple and well done, soft and cosy love your style, home and this idea to put water on natural crown to get it the form you need was a good one I keep it. On summer I did the same but bigger with the peace and love in the center on put it on a nice place outside on my house in the yard. I’ve also made pomanders (oranges stuck with cloves) after watching your video from last Christmas. It reminded me of making them when I was young and the smell is so Christmassy. Thank you for reigniting that memory.
