😁my kids are grown but I laughed at “ oh crap, I have that in the basket “ Brought back memories! When their rooms would get too messy, they didn’t even want to spend time in there. When I’d do an “overhaul” cleaning/ organizing they loved it and wanted to play and be in there. Good memories watching this!

We have a rule in our house that if Mommy finds a McDonalds toy on the floor, it automatically goes in the garbage 🤷🏻‍♀️ those cheap little toys and trinkets are always the things that end up cluttering the house!

All great tips. The tip on having less clothing and other items cluttering up the bedroom; can certainly be useful for adults too. I am watching Shannons video next. Have been following her for a long time. She has great advice and is such a sweet person. Thanks for sharing.

Love these tips Laura! My daughter is still very young but I’m trying to stay on top of things since she always gets lots of gifts for Christmas and her birthday.

I’m new here…I’ve watched a lot of toy declutters but yours is by far the most detailed and helpful! Praise The Lord for an answered prayer! I have 3 littles 5,3 & 8 months and plan to homeschool but I feel like I’m drowning in toys! Thanks for the motivation for every situation (my kids are collectors and also love to wear the big shoes I have in their room for their next size & play with every box we get to create something!) finally, some real solutions thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you so much for all the tips! I have been trying to get this all organized for awhile now!! And I have ...to a point. I think my biggest issue is that I haven't found a place to hide things that my son cannot find it! Lol my son is autistic and soooo....when he wants something...he wants it! He also keeps piles and piles of papers of drawing that he's drawn or others have drawn for him 🤦 DVD cases is another obsession of his and it's just hard to organize his things since he is so determined and wants things specific ways lol

@@amandacosta5373 I did that with Halloween candy! A handful in the trash every time right before I’d take it out. Nobody noticed. Nobody missed it. So we’re planning a family Halloween party instead of trick or treating this year. I can’t wait!

As a grandma, I get very irritated when I buy something for the kids, and the parents don’t care a thing about it. They chuck it out or whatever. It is so fun and exciting to be out and about w/ the grandchildren and get them something they think they want. But I understand what you are saying. Too much stuff causes big messes!

🤣😭I'm with ya!!! I ask nowadays and usually just give money so they can made decisions for their home. So, We have a bin for the Grands at my house. They don't come as often, either....but, I try to do activities instead and usually always have. I try not to take it personal... I'd like to have some of the things back if!!! It's such an honor to be Grandparents....

As a mom of 5 little girls I can say a couple things here. First of all, we absolutely love my parents and cherish every moment we have with them. Next, I try to snap a photo of my girls floor when we are doing room cleanups so I can share them with my mom. She has to see what I’m dealing with. The last thing I’d want is for her to waste her money and time selecting gifts that aren’t a good fit or we just simply don’t need. Also I’d hate for my children to grow up in a home that is stuffed with possessions and impossible to clean or enjoy fully. I’ve encouraged my mom to select much smaller gifts. My girls each have bookshelves that they use as dollhouses and she now gives them tiny little trinkets that are super special. They can each have a small box of 100s of tiny dollhouse sized items that take hardly any room at all and spark many memories. In the end the stuff just doesn’t matter. It’s time spent together that is important and stuff often just gets in the way. 💕

Amy Noel I do understand what you’re saying. It’s fun for a grandma to make and buy things for grandchildren, but moderation is good in all things.
@atroy1983
@atroy1983 2 жыл бұрын
Children don’t need you to buy them things, just spend time with them. If it irritates you then keep the toy at your house and deal with the mess when the kids come over. I can guarantee the mom of your grandkids is just as irritated at the mess you are adding to in her home. Sorry if that is harsh but I deal with this from well meaning family but they aren’t in my house each day picking up all the toys and clothes and clutter. It’s overwhelming.

Dear parents! When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil

I don’t think any parent disagrees with you. But most children have too many things and DON’T take good care of them. If mom is the one picking up constantly then she has every right to get rid of stuff that is tossed on the floor. I doubt there is a parent out there who would go into a child’s neatly organized belongings and throw them away!
