The ‘clean as you cook’ is something I have really appreciated and done since I was a child. It makes things so much easier and actually makes eating the food so much more enjoyable for me! Something my mom always said as we were cooking together was, ‘a good cook always cleans up their mess’. That’s been ingrained in me since I was a kid! 😆

I agree I enjoy my meal so much more when I know a lot of the cleaning is already done! I'm going to use that saying for my girls now too, I love it!

There are good Tipps !!! - but do not hurry your girls eating - it can be such a great family time together! We have 2 girls who are now teenagers - and they still enjoy meals together because they are used to it as a time to unwind and tell about dreams, hopes, their friends, the teachers, vacations we took and want to plan... i know it takes patience with younger kids but it will help later to stay in conversation with the teens!

Thank you so much for this reminder! You are right. Mealtime is great family time and I want them to open up to us when they are older. :) That's so great that you have a wonderful relationship with your teenage girls. Everyone keeps warning me about the teenage years and I hope we are able to keep a good relationship through the teens as well!

Thank you, another great video. I've seen lots of c!eaning type videos and I don't think any one of them explained the order of things to clean and the reason for doing so. You truly are a great teacher/mentor.

For the fridge art work, you could add magnet strips to the back of 8x10 frames from Dollar Tree so the art can be temporarily framed which makes them look tidier and special. Once the art has lost its luster and is replaced, the child can decide if they want to take up valuable space in the keepsake box or if it's ok to put in the trash.

Eating faster tip: Try using larger plates & bowls - they just might think that they are eating a smaller portion, that they don't have to eat as much as usual.
