You have hit the proverbial nail on the head! We do need our spaces to be less cluttered so our minds can function properly! I've been tackling small things each week and it's making a difference. It's letting my mind rest when I see tops of furniture cleared off and things in their own places. It decreases my stress and tension. I've also been working on my thought life as I pick up my family's things to reset the morning/evening. Instead of grumbling and complaining as I tidy, I now praise the Lord and thank Him for them, even asking Him to bless them. It's really renewed my mind which leads to a less stressed heart! That's a win for sure!! Thank you for your video!! Blessings to you as you continue making changes in your home!

I spent so many years trying all kinds of organizing systems and being angry at myself and family when I had to constantly redo them. This video is so me, wish I had really focused more on having less instead of organzining my excess.

I grew up in a very cluttered home and it drove me absolutely NUTS. I kept complaining about it to my mom, who was fine with it, who told me that someday I would have my own house, and there, I could do whatever I wanted. My home now (about sixty years later) is pretty minimalist, although I do have stuff. I feel so much better. It took four of us adult kids four sessions of two weeks of our time each over a year and a half, after our parents both died, to clear out the house and barns and get the property ready to sell. Clearing out the house was -- no words for it. Hardest job in all of our lives.

I 100% understand that struggle. I’ve cleaned up two estates that were FULL of clutter. It was awful and I feel like it’s not talked about enough what a burden other peoples clutter can be.

Im still decluttering my house but i know im getting closer to being "done" because now i have countless empty bins of all shapes and sizes to declutter. 🙄 When you talked about buying more shelves to fix your clutter issues i surely knew what you were talking about. I purchased so many containers trying to find the perfect one. Guess what? Sometimes if you have so little stuff in a space, you might not even need a "special" box, bin, basket, etc to keep it contained.

Wow!!! I did not expect this kind of video. That's so true, though. "Less is more." You g a very it a new meaning to that prase. I thought it was going to be one of those videos where you let it all out about how clutter made you feel, how it made you feel towards your family, etc. I was getting ready to give you advice, yet you got me thinking about my life. Lol.

I find I am struggling with this also. I started my declutter journey probably a year and a half ago. I have decluttered 80% of my belongings. My husband and son are both border line hoarders. It drives me crazy. I want to declutter their stuff too, but it’s not mine to declutter!! I have no spaces in my home that are clutter free. I have corners that are minimal but when you live with two people that hang onto everything it makes it hard!!

Great video! Just 2 weeks ago I had sod put down where a walkway was leading up to our house. I had it for about 4 years, and had to replant several times, because things were dying. The biggest issue was the weeds.. I don’t like to spray, so I would pull them, but that area would get really low ones that were hard to pull. I would literally almost have it cleaned up, then we would leave town for like a week, and they were all back! I was always embarrassed by how it looked, and my kitchen window faces the front of the house, so I was always looking at it, thinking I should be out there pulling weeds. I fought the sod idea for awhile, but I am so glad we did it! I have enough to do in my back yard, I had to simplify the front yard ❤

We just did something similar. We live in a home that had Many rose bushes in the front yard….10-15. We also live in Western Australia where front gardens are tended a bit differently than the USA. But the grass had invaded the garden bed. We would spend hours weeding! All told it was probably in the hundreds of hours over the years but after a week or so the grass was back 😫. It was looking worse and worse and I felt so much stress over these roses. Finally we decided to pull all the roses so we could lay down weed barrier. I was nervous but now that it is done every time I see it I am SO thankful that it is clean and tidy and stress free. We will have to plant something again but something stress free this time 😜

Excellent video . Yes those plants can go in the forest. I have also concentrated on areas that i personally dislike doing . For instance i detest vacumning , a cordless vacumn installed in my pantry is a total game changer for me . I can just grab it and go . I probably vacumn 2 times a week now . I got rid of any dish that won't go in my dishwasher . No more dishes piled in the sink waiting to be handwashed or sitting beside the sink drying . Pick the things you dislike doing and truly think how to simplify that chore . I think you'll be pleased .

Women may be affected more by clutter, but often we are the reason for it. Sure my husband likes tools etc… but he’s not a consumer of homesense lol. My son’s hockey sticks and socks/hoodies are drapped everywhere but he only buys food lol. We women need to stop nesting our houses (I think it’s instinctual, like overeating… hard to not do it)

Amanda your so right. Women are natural nesters and emotionally hang on and things shopping bring us comfort. My mom a single parent in her generation was prepared for anything feast famine storms LOL I'm in my 50s I found I was thinking like her and the younger generation live and let so it's a mix of both ideas clashing. If you add any trauma then it's worse. I'm really trying let is go and really it's not hard but what harder where it's going and not having g any help. I'm trying to make lists and not get so overwhelemed
