What should we do if the expression has + , there is no column for + in the table Only * / . are present

/ and + are basically the same, they denote OR operation. I'm not 100% sure but I guess so. a+b means either a or b and a/b means the same.

Karthik, the problem is finding Minimized DFA from Regular expression. So the output is going to be DFA. So DFA will have single starting state with set of final states. So we need to find initial state first. So we are taking the starting state as A. So now what is A? in this, the state A is the FirstPos(rootnode). So A={1,2,3}. Now we need to find the other state of minimized DFA. so from the given regular expression, the symbols in the RE are a,b. So the states will have the transitions for 'a' and 'b'. I think u r clear with my answer. If the given problme is (0/1)* then we need to process for (A,0) and (A,1). The answer to ur question is very simple only. i think u r clear with the answer.
