And as a smoke screen to resign from the ECHR that protects UK citizens and every Person legally in the territory of the UK. Most our case law is built on ECHR provisions, so when your employer refuses you a paid annual leave, or restricts your right to peaceful assembly, you need to take your case to the High Court. And the road ends there. Very few of the UN treaties and conventions allow for an individual complaints procedure and for that you still need the High Courts decision and a very good International laywer. The UDHR is a declaration, not a treaty/convention.

I don’t know how the British public has put up with the absolute waste of millions of pounds of taxpayers money heading to Rwanda to line government ministers pockets.Only two,TWO migrants,VOLUNTEERS,have gone to Rwanda.Half a Billion alone was given to the French awhile back to try to stop the boats and yet that hasn’t worked.Imagine if a Labour or Lib Dem government was wasting money on a failed policy like this.The Tories and the right wing media would be going apoplectic with rage and calling for the leader to resign!

Would take, longer, 1st under the agreement with Rwanda once they receive immigrants from us they will send us their own immigrants they don't want. 2nd When anyone is sent to Rwanda Uk has to pay for their housing AND living costs there for 5 years at an estimated cost of £140,000 per person. 3rd Anyone sent to Rwanda has to be given Rwandan citizenship after which there is nothing stopping them getting on a plane back here AND we cannot then send them there again.

So, let me see if I have got this right, we are sending people that have come over on boats to Rwanda, where they will have their claims processed, if their claims are rejected then they are the problem of Rwanda, but if they are successful with their claim, then we have to fly them back to the UK?! Why don't we process their claim here and save ourselves some air miles? Also the number of people we can send to Rwanda is capped, with the same number of Rwandans coming to the UK! Rwanda is being dragged into a conflict leaking over from Congo. So potentially, you are sending people to a war zone. But its still safe because the Tories have passed a law saying its safe. Which leaves a queue of people sitting in publicly funded accommodation because the government hasnt processed them fast enough here. One might be forgiven for think they were intentionally creating a problem...and one they didnt want to solve.

Been saying this all along using them as a diversion from all the other shit happening. I blame the media for a lot of this, all you read about in the papers and on political programmes was Rwanda. Nobody bothered to mention NHS, schools, housing and if they did they blamed that on immigrants. We had food rotting in the fields and people in hospital suffering from malnutrition. Teachers spending their own money on school supplies or snacks for hungry children, the list is endless but according to the Tories Rwanda was the answer to every problem.

The Rwanda Scheme WOULD be a good deterrent IF most of the people that came here "Illegally" had a processing center in France (Where they've said it can be built) that is properly funded so those allowed to come be it as a migrant or a refugee can get their paperwork & get a job as soon as they arrive! Those who choose to get in a small boat? Trying to jump the que or because they know they wont be allowed? If those people were immediately deported & maybe not Rwanda but a country not easy to return back to the UK from? That would be a deterrent for the people actually coming here Illegally! Yeah I just don't get it. If they come here and get deported to Rwanda they are still likely better off than they otherwise would be so why wouldn't they continue taking the risks of crossing the channel?

@@keithhobbs1 Did you look at Rwanda? It's a landlocked *small* country in the middle of Africa. Asylums are not welcomed there, in fact, asylums are murdered in Rwanda. They are not better off in Rwanda. Why you think Sunak&co wants to exit the ECHR that ruled that Rwanda is not a save country? All the asylum seekers that may be deported there will make a b-line right back to the UK because those people have nothing to lose.
