Minneapolis lawmakers offer new Uber, Lyft pay guidelines

Ай бұрынAfter months pf back-and-forth between rideshare companies Uber and Lyft and Minneapolis City Council members over an ordinance that would increase wages, lawmakers have come to a general consensus on what they believe drivers should be paid.

Let them leave, it doesn’t matter even if there is statewide ordinance. Either way they will take half of the fare. It is just so stupid. You driving your own car, putting yourself at risk, and plus expenses such as oil and gas. Who gave them the audacity to say cost of fares will be expensive when they are scammers

Even if they pay $10 a mile to a driver, Uber and Lyft will take it back with their "fees", so don't be naive with how much you get per mile. Need to tackle their rate charging to be fixed not a random cut. Their software needs to be audit.

@@user-bc1en8tt9v I'm sure you were compensated for your time, living expenses, wear and tear, and so on. As a contractor myself, I've accepted everything that has come my way and have no complaints. I don't hold myself responsible as I'm not the one with the issue. However, it becomes problematic when the earnings are insufficient. For instance, when a $200 ride only nets the driver $30 while more than $100 goes towards fees, that's an issue that needs addressing.

The state should create their own rideshare app especially in Minneapolis since the drivers are already vetted especially with the non emergency medical transportation budget uber is over charging the state for these rides

Ride share is not leaving Minnesota, it's just Uber and Lyft. There will be more competitors taking over once they leave anyways. The real question is do they dare to leave and left all their loyal customers in the dark? Doing that means they won't have any loyal customers anymore if they should ever return and the competitors come and took them all.

If you don't want to use your car, don't drive for them. Simple as that. Find some other company to drive for that will give you the $25 minimum wage you're chasing The state mandating it will just crush the industry. The only people that will be able to afford it are the well-off set. But that's how Democrat policy always seems to work. What's next, subsidizing riders to make up for the lost business as people just pay their neighbor $20 for a ride instead?
