The state had concerns about the dam years ago. They knew it was undersized and the spillways insufficient for modern-day floods.

The House and store were put there when the dam was built 1) store for the workers 2) house for the workers... I wonder why anyone would want to live in it after the dam was built ugh....i do feel for the family and glad they had time to get their belongings out of it before it collapsed

What dam? Flood carved out a spillway half the size of the structure. At this point it's nothing more than a hunk of concrete extending into the flow.

They have been destroying dams all across America so I am shocked this one is going on it's own. It's been a project the environmentalists have been pushing hard and they won out. Even the one in my small city has been taken out and I gotta say, things looked better with it.
