This weekend I'm continuing to explore Itasca County in Minnesota. I'm looking for the perfect boondocking or dispersed camping location. This video I have found campgrounds on Forestry Land, County Land and State Land. I decided to stay at an abandoned Forestry Campground and a dispersed Forestry Site. I must have thrown 1000 casts over the weekend. Did I catch a fish? You will have to watch!
Thanks for coming along.

Have lived in Idaho for 22 years, Maine for 16 before that. Minnesota reminds me a lot of Maine. Maine was a great place. My biggest concern was the summer influx of the Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut people. Idaho and it's people are great. 2 thirds public lands. Great Hunting, fishing and the people.

Cool video. Here in Florida not much for dispersed camping unless you know land owners. Some water mgmt. districts have free camping in designated areas but pre registration is a must. Airing down the tires gets me thru most mud holes and makes deep sand a breeze. Yep, I carry a compressor.

All great tips. One day I'd like to install an on board air compressor, maybe even a small tank with capability to air up the tires to 80 pounds. I have an on board compressor for my air bags...I don't think it will do the trick. I'll have to research it more. Your the second person from Florida mentioning the lack of free dispersed sites. FYI, I have had more than one 2000 watt Predator generators. The first one lasted less than two years with daily use when it broke. The estimated cost to fix it was over 300 bucks. I foolishly got another one that was defective and would die after only an hours use or so. I took it back and got another one that was not much better. The harbor freight service people told me the last two came from a bad batch as they were having propblems with some of the parts as they had only one supplier in China. Bottom line is that the Predator costs about half of what a Honda cost but you’re getting a machine that isn’t half as good. Contrast that with my Honda which was incredibly reliable for seven years of near daily use.

I've heard that some people have issues with their Predators. I guess I've gotten lucky. It's been on that front basket for over three years and 100,000 miles. I don't run it every week. But probably 2 tanks of gas a month. So far, it has never let me down. Knock on wood.

Yep. Floor mats and shingles have got me out of a pinch a few times. Especially while plowing snow. A bundle of shingles weighs about 70 bounds. It's a great idea to carry 4 bundles in the bed. The extra weight over the tires is awesome. And if u get stuck, laying shingles down on ice and snow provides great traction.

The camping is very spaced out and primitive with rock built fire pits from past campers.❤Watching the Sunset over the Red Rocks of Sedona is glorious. However, we have found beauty everywhere we go.Today we are headed up to Acadia and Cadillac Mountain as we are exploring Maine this month or so. Certainly don't blame you for not swinging off the rope without Mandi there, Smart. I am a bit more careful when I am out hiking without Fred. Tell Mandi we missed her this week. Both of you have a great week. Mary 💕Fred

Our funding got cut for paying somebody for upkeep it hasn't been taken care of in probably 20 years. There used to be a big beautiful picnic area, lots of things went on there I have many many good memories having picnics, swimming with my grandparents, now I share it with my brother and my children. The wells with the handles off of them that was done purposely by the government when they stopped funding that little park.

Keep your generators at home or make sure they only HUM this is My sanctuary if you want a getaway leave all your crap at home!! I completely understand Lisa. You will see on a lot of my other videos that I don't give names or locations of sites. I only do it when I find these spots are already listed on Google Maps or Freecampsite.net. That's how I found this spot. It's on Google Maps. In the reviews, it gives a little history of the location. It's a beautiful spot indeed. I definitely didn't want to offend the locals or bring a spotlight to the campground to have it overburden. I, too, hope that everyone who visits this spot will be respectful. This was the second Forestery campground I have come across that has been closed. The other one was not listed on Google Maps. I did not give any info on that site. This truly was a beautiful site in a remote part of the state. I was happy to see the Sheriff's Deputy patrolling the campground. I think its great that they keep an eye on it.

That's really surprising! I just looked and Federal lands only make up 1.77% of the total land in Texas. The booster is a high boost. They sent it to me 3 months ago. I recorded a install video but told Hiboost I wouldn't release the video until I used it extensively. I think that's next week's video. I have been really happy with it. There's pro's and con's. But over all I'm happy with it. In this video I was able to send a text if I walked a couple 100 yards down the road, back at my camper I had no signal. When I plugged in the booster I was able to text and call from the camper...not enough to use data. There has been numerous occasions where I could not use data without the booster on. However, the booster has caused my signal to go down when there's really good service available.

The last few years I've put on weight I shouldn't be putting on, combination of age, stress and not as active due to a bad back and the most obvious reason, eating or drinking too much of the wrong things which is entirely my own fault. When I used to be able to go on a bit of a camping/driving type summer holiday I liked going to National Parks in Canada or the USA and hike trails and so forth. It's a term that's gets thrown around, that's for sure. On state forest lands you can setup just about anywhere as long as you follow the rules. A lot of dispersed sites are already established. They frown up making new sites by cutting vegetation. I have visited a lot of dispersed campsites on County lands that are marked with dispersed camping signs....but some have latrines. Boondocking, dispersed camping...when I hear the term it means the same to me. Some people get really serious about it. People in tents have diffrent definitions then campers, some truck campers have diffrent definitions then people in class A's. That's just my feelings though.
