One thing I’d like to point out is between the Vikings and the bears qb situation. Yes Williams has a solid structure of talent to throw to. As does McCarthy. But…. One thing the Vikings have set up for McCarthy is much more help in the qb room. McCarthy has an offensive minded coach. And qbs head coach who has played almost 20 years in the nfl. And has two veteran qbs in nick mullens and sam darnold. And yes mullens and darnold are not the most talented qbs but they are vets who are a pros pro and have seen a lot of nfl film. Those two are essentially two more qbs coaches on the field for McCarthy. Caleb Williams doesn’t have that in Chicago, he has a defensive head coach, a slappy oc and his backup is a d2 qb. Talent wise chicago has some good pieces to throw to but Williams does not have the mentorship that McCarthy has in Minnesota. And this will make a HUGE difference in both of their growths. Williams is a Uber talented qb but the qb structure in Chicago could hinder his development. And with McCarthy. The narrative for him is he had a talented team but, people don’t want to look back 2-3 years prior to McCarthy at Michigan people were wondering if harbough would be fired. You can not tell me that McCarthy at Michigan changed the narrative of that program for the better. This may be biased but when I see McCarthy I see a dude who walks into the room and people notice he walks into the room. They suddenly pay attention to what he says. He has that leadership factor. Williams I question his leadership, or his mental strength . A dude who’s like 22-23 years old crying on his mom’s shoulder after a regular season loss? How does that change in the nfl? I don’t know, but the bears and Vikings have both approached on how they wanted to operate their qb of the future. Time will tell whether each approach works
