This is basically more of Swing you Sinners and while it's not as good I still find it great. This was one of the first 1930s cartoons I watched and found on KZfaq and it's great. I personally liked Swing you Sinners more enjoyable and darker but it will get a 9/10.

Forget John Lennon- Cab Calloway IS the Walrus. Just to let your viewers know- Kickin' Th' Gong was smoking opium. Some say it was a euphemism for sex, but nope, it meant you were getting stoned puffing Chinese Molasses. "Minnie The Moocher" was a big hit at this point in the Great Depression, and there was a sequel, "Kickin' The Gong Around", where Smokey Joe tries to find Minnie in an opium den. "Where is Minnie? I want Minnie. Has she been here kickin' th' gong around?" Some say that Smokey Joe really was "Cokey" Joe in early versions of this song, but I haven't been able to verify it. Either way, Joe and Minnie were hopheads. Certain Fleischer cartoons, this one among them, started the rumor the the Fleischer animators were high, flying on dope when they animated, and an awful lot of Boomers desperately wanted to believe it, Yeah, like you need to be stoned to use your imagination. When Disney re-released "Fantasia" back in 1969, eager hippies kept asking the guys who made it what drugs they were on while they animated. Art Babbitt got so fed up that his reply to this question was "Yeah, I was on drugs.. Bromo-Seltzer and Ex Lax!"

Has some interesting themes. "Spook" is a pejorative of that era. Pure as the driven snow Betty heads to their section of town where she is regaled and entertained but ultimately learns her lesson to return where she belongs.

Funny thing about Bimbo (Betty's ex-boyfriend-turned-best friend). Supposedly, he was once named Fitz... although, it wasn't official. He wouldn't get his current name until the Talkartoon "Sky Scraping" was released on November 1, 1930.
