Minninglow is a hill in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, crowning the hill are a Neolithic chambered tomb and two Bronze Age bowl barrows.
Along the way, there is history from the early Neolithic to the Victorian Industrial Revolution and the beautiful but stark landscape the peak district is known for

Yes all checks done...Excellent work...the two vids my son Jon and I did on High Peak Cinematography echo most of the details including further digs by other archaeologists including the dig where an amateur nearly got killed by the stones and hence the filling in of the gravel...for years I had considered the what you called a ring cairn just off the track near the embankment as a very old dew pond maybe connected to the builders of the CHPR but wasn't convinced enough to actually call it a cairn so I am glad you have named it as one...Yes a well earned 10/10 my friend...loved it...Cheers Les...HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours.🙂👍

Very informative vid. It must be 12 or 15 years since I last visited the High Peak Trail and whenever I did, it was always on my bike Shortly after passing the fenced-off crane, you came upon the lime kiln - was this on the path off the trail to the cairns? Because of the bike, I never took that path but I've promised myself a return trip and this time it'll be on foot.
@Traveler13
@Traveler13 5 ай бұрын
Hi yes after the crane you come to the entrance to the field to Mining Low, as you go along that to the right you see where it was built up over the valley and the tunnel under it, the lime kiln is just past the tunnel, you may actually be able to get to it from the path if you carry on a little, is that helpful👍
