No walls nor towers, no military variety and slow villagers, i dont think it is possible.

if you wanna see some REAL Age of Empires skills, I have started making videos recently. I have a shit laptop that wouldn't screen capture the game properly, so it is just me recording my laptop with my phone hahah, but you can see and hear everything anyway. I have been doing 7 VS 1 random maps on hard (highland, that's all that I play hahah), since hardest is fucking ridiculous since they can basically cheat hahah. Yesterday I did what I think is the hardest possible 7 VS 1, using Persian. Tomorrow I am going to attempt what I think is the most do-able possible 7 VS 1 on hardest, Assyrian VS 7 Persians.

@Joe Ayers but anyway, to stay on topic, I manned up and started playing against hardest. I managed to win 7 VS 1 hardest with almost all default settings (so yes, from a stone age start), but I did it on conquest after I got really fucked over by a wonder surrounded by water and forests and priests hahah

The computers are all alied together, they always do that in hardest and you can see how they all merge their buildings and never attack each other, not mentioning they pay tributes to each other.

It is, the confusion surely comes from the term "Random" in aoe 1 it is used to call the normal matches, being the other kind the deathmatches. Random map not necesarily means the "Random map" setting which i think in AoE 1 is not available anywyas. On the other hand the map size makes it so weird; "Tiny". It is a random map even if you dont like.

@M Goulet I can't speak for Geo but the only thing you'll notice better than the version of this video is the graphics. The mechanics are still the same where units kind of go all over, they don't go in formations which for me has been the most frustrating part.

M Goulet I liked it a lot actually. They got rid of the pop cap of 50, made it to where you can walk through farms, and there are some other QoL upgrades but it is mostly still the same in a lot of ways.
