Good movie showing human ability to forgive. But the ending and the results of finding God shows God's forgiveness is even greater. The acting was so well played.

I could tell from the beginning this was going to be a good film. I remember when I was a child in the late 1950s and early 1960s hearing snake oil barkers and scammers at local fairs, rodeos, etc. Today they use the Internet.

So glad i found this, i saw it when it was in theaters and loved it. And after it left the local theater i still wanted to share it but couldn't find it anywhere. I'm still willing to buy a DVD of this movie.

This was total nonsense . Showing a pumping rig , not a DRILLING rig . The pumping comes AFTER the eruption of crude subsides . Consult a expert before making a film 👎

These were ‘tamping’ rigs, not ‘rotary drilling’ rigs. They literally pounded a hole in the ground with a weighted piece of hardened pipe, withdrew the filled pipe and removed the cuttings, the repeated the operation again and again and again till they found oil or abandoned the dry hole. I worked offshore in the ‘oil patch’ in the Gulf of Mexico and in Lower Cook Inlet Alaska. From ‘inland barges’ in the swamps of Louisiana to platform rigs a hundred miles from, shore to semi-submersibles to a drill ship. I’m no expert, but I do have some experience in the business. I did have a conversation with a fellow who had worked on a ‘tamping rig’ in south Texas in the 70’s. So that archaic technology was still in use in the recent past.
