I love this weird little gem of a movie. I was very into Tangerine Dream, and heard the soundtrack before I got to see at the beginning of the 90's. I'd never seen anything quite like it, and it blew me away. Still one of my favourite movies 30+ years on.

Didn't even know the film existed until like 2021, and I havent stopped watching since. Great film

I watched this movie as a kid and went to bed crying worried about my family dying. It was a pretty cool film.

Saw this at a horror film festival in London back in '88. The audience came out of the auditorium looking stunned. Never had an airing on UK network TV.

This film made a big impact on me as a young teen or tween. The way society completely fell apart within minutes of the news coming out was so realistic and intense that it continues to haunt me to this day. Another film that freaked me out was The Boys Next Door, from around the same time. These were films that portrayed American society as brittle and that both took place in Los Angeles’ seedy underbelly.

I saw this at the theater when it was released. I literally was alone in the theater. After it ended I walked out and saw people acting normal. To me the world had ceased to exist

Not sure if I'd call it "fun". It's frantic, it's surreal at times, there are elements of comedy, but fun? I found the entire film to be very tense, with a nuclear sword of Damocles constantly hanging over the world. Is it real? Is it mass hysteria? Is love worth this madness, or should he just think about himself? This film really stuck with me for that reason. But the weirdest thing is, the only other movie DeJarnatt directed was Cherry 2000. It seems strange to me that a relatively unknown writer and director would stick to his guns when he had people walking his door flat to turn this script into a movie, but I'm glad he did. And hey, the movie was sampled for Night Runner's Starfighter album, and that apparently got at least a few more people to watch it.

The pinnacle of US nuclear war movies and many other movies beyond the mini genre. B movie cast of fantastics, nuclear references galore, real people not Hollywood fabrication. I'm a connoisseur of this movie. You won't get even a tad first time but keep watching (the skies)

Saw this in the theater - first run. A friend of mine said to me one friday morning in the hallway at school - "Let's see this film Miracle Mile" "Ummm, what is it about?" I replied. "No idea, just heard it was good." OK... so we went. And yeah, I was really surprised, but only after some reflection did I realize that not knowing anything about the plot *put me in the shoes of Harry* - no one knows what's about to happen until that fateful errant phone call - not Harry, and not my friends and I.

The case was already established and proven when this came out..just took awhile for others to catch up 👍

Also, the guy who wrote this is the same guy who wrote Strange Brew, so I like to say this is a prequel to Mutants of 2051 A.D
