One of the days of our expedition to the Chernobyl Zone, we ended up in the village of Teremtsy, where a small family of self-settlers lives. This word refers to those people who, for one reason or another, returned to live in the abandoned houses of the Exclusion Zone. The self-settlers have electricity and mobile communications, once every fifty days a caravan with food and household goods arrives in the villages - but around their small inhabited plots there is a dead territory of the Zone with many abandoned buildings and monuments of the Soviet era.
The main character of our interview is Valentina Ivanovna, who lived in the city of Pripyat and worked in the Pripyat medical unit before the accident at the nuclear power plant. On the night of April 26, 1986, Valentina Ivanovna was at her workplace and tried to save the irradiated firefighters and the personnel of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant...
