Enough said, but given EA's track record lately they'd ruin it, leave the Mirror's Edge and Titanfall series alone until they get better management is what I say otherwise we'd have another BF5, Mass Effect Adromeda or Battlefront 2 on our hands, riddled with micro transactions as a live service instead of the great games we got in the Mirror's Edge Series and the Titanfall Series (and yes I guess Apex Legends too before EA got their claws fully into respawn once they saw Apex Made money) those are two of my favourite games ever because they brought something new to the mainstream gaming and they need to be applauded for it.

It's one thing to have an opinion, but that's kind of a stupid thing to say considering solar field's ambient discography is widely considered one of the greatest out there. If you're not a listener of the genre he creates, making a statement like that is equivalent to an uneducated guess

I'm pretty sure this song isn't made by Solar Fields. Doesn't sound like him at all. And yes I know he is doing the Soundtrack, doesn't mean he is also responsible for the trailer music.

Well, I know it is using the Catalyst motif, and does seem to have some of the same instruments Solar Fields uses. The bass, especially. It could be Solar Fields doing his take on Hollywood trailer music.

the world we live in today lacks creativity and appreciation for the simple things amongst many things. I wish more people would "play" and "enjoy" and "have fun" like we did with Mirror's Edge and other unique games of the time :)

2023 here... I'd even take a remaster/remake of catalyst.. it clearly wasn't finished but had so much potential. With modern consoles this engine would shine beautifully.

Someone in reddit claimed that he talked with Ea developers and they told him that game have already sold more then they wanted and they can develop a new game but currently there is no me project ongoing. I wish someone could make perfect parkour game even if we cant play new me game in the future. me is unique in terms of complete parkour game. Lets see how dying light2 will be. They always delayed game which means game will be good. Even if game is good still it is not mainly a parkour game.

Graphics don't matter though... I don't mind having a game with amazing graphics, but graphics don't make the game.

TheJunctionIsinFunction they certainly did make this game impressive, though. I doubt anyone would've cared as much about this had this game had early PS3 or PS2 level graphics.

TheJunctionIsinFunction well this could be even greater than its predecessor. Who knows? I didn't like the idea of rebooting the game, since the story wasn't even that complex, but I'm okay, seeing how the Closed Beta and Gamescom demo offered a great experience, to me.

A lot of the songs in the soundtrack are based off some of the Chords to Still Alive. They certainly haven't forgotten it

Afraid not. They're both slow "cinematic" games with too much emphasis on style over substance. Well - with DX the substance might be there and we just don't know it yet. With this there's no hope. Inb4 someone claims this game is fast. Turn off the motion blur and it's slower than Doom 2016.

If you want the game to feel fast, why don't you just keep the motion blur on? PS: From what I've seen and heard, the new Doom is pretty fast.

How is mirror's edge slow? Fucking lmao don't about games you haven't played.

+Field of View One still focuses on movement and a fast pace, where the other is a slower stealth game (at least to me). One has a story I care about, the other one doesn't. One has mostly bright, clean and colorful visuals, while the other goes for a more gritty, dark and realistic look. One has a pretty and agile young woman with no weapons as the protagonist, the other has a big, tough cyborg dude with throat cancer and enough weapons to take down a small army. One is open world, the other I assume will be closed levels and a hub world.

Locking out certain areas of the early game for later parts of the story so that going back to previous areas makes exploration feel more rewarding in later parts of the game instead of just being able to get everything your first time through.

Probably because some of those grappling hook spots exist across MASSIVE gaps between buildings, like where nothing sane could connect any of it.

Jeremy Miller said the MAG Rope will be mainly used for swinging over gaps, but can later be upgraded so that it could pull Faith up or pull objects towards her. Like the others said, it can only latch onto certain objects, like surveillance cameras. So I don't think it will.

Probably won't happen cause it's EA and they're only relying on Battlefield mostly cause it's their signature IP. My opinion is releasing a new one in every generation. We'll see. But recently a spokesperson from DICE when asked if projects like Mirror's Edge are on the backburner. Her response: "Totally. We are only focusing on Battlefield 2042. There is no time for anything else and this is what we want to do. In three years, we want to be the first-person shooter powerhouse that DICE deserves to be, and that is what we're going for."

WARNING: COMIC SPOILERS (A synopsis to explain that line).----In the prequel comic, Mirror's Edge: Exordium, Faith takes on a series of jobs for the underground crime lord, Dogen in order to secure her mother's painting (the tattoo/the thing you saw on the wall at the end of the trailer). One job requires her to steal an experimental vaccine. Someone else beats her to it (Celeste). Celeste stole it to cure her sister who is on her deathbed. Faith wanted it to finish the job. So, Faith being a royal ass jumped Celeste and stole the vaccine. Celeste chased her down into an area that was being scoured by K-sec looking for Black November activity. They were caught, but in a change of heart Faith gave Celeste the vaccine and held of off the guards to Celeste could escape. Faith is subdued and put in juvie for two years. When caught, Dogen saved her ass by setting her up with a fake gridprint so the conglomerate wouldn't know they captured a member of the Connors family (her parents lead the resistance in the Libertas movement many years before). I imagine the act of setting up the gridprint was costly as well as Faith giving up the vaccine. So Faith owes Dogen a lot of money and he's wishing her best to get it to him quickly.

Keep in mind it's DICE. They do things the right way, and this release was not rushed, so I'm expecting a good launch, not like BF4's rushed release. I mean, look at Battlefront, though the game wasn't the best casual shooter, it is not complete shit

EA didn't make it. They published it. DICE made the game, and I think they are immensely talented.
