We are back with the Mirror scapes to see how they have grown after 30 days and the results are quite surprising. We have had one plant loss in the aquarium which was the Myriophyllum mattogrossense this has now been replaced with Hygrophila polysperma which should be a fairly fast growing aquatic plant.
If you haven't seen the first video find it in the link below.
• The EXPERIMENT part 1:...
The aquascapes have actually settled really well and I'm liking the look of the Dragon stone and Talawa wood combo, might end up trying this look in a larger aquarium.
The Guppy and Ricefish (Medaka) pairing is working out great and hopefully we can get some babies from both groups, because free fish is always a winner!
Find out more information on the NT Labs Plant food range in the links below.

Also go follow @NTLabsOfficialSite on KZfaq as they are releasing a huge amount of content, with how to videos, tours, meet the teams and much more!

love the vids, i'm still waiting for that "build competition" thingy i suggested a while back ;) reminder.. you and MD choose a family of fish (i had suggested loaches because they are really cool and also very under represented online) and you each agree on a specific size of tank. then "secretly" build your own builds on your own by X date, using only the agreed upon family of fish + 1 "builders choice" each type of loach is up to the individual and the +1 also, so could both end up with very different fish. you each upload the build videos to your own channels, then each review the others tank on the others channel, so like your build video would be on your channel then md would come review your tank on his channel and vice versa ;) would be really fun

I have had a few attempts at live plants. Bought online, they all died. Bought direct from my local store, they survived, but didn't thrive. But after getting a lecture on water chemistry, in scotland, our soft water has even less minerals than your water. Feeding plants is even more necessary up here. Mine are going a lot better now I'm feeding. Very interesting video

Hi Matt, It would be really great to see you do a marine set up - maybe using a "small" tank (50-100l?) that's going to be light on fish but more inverts/polyps? I see a few such set-ups in various MA, and other, stores but am always wondering if they are doable because they have such easy (cheap/at cost!) access to salt etc. to enable more water changes than perhaps a larger tank would need? Am in the process of looking at a Fluval Siena 330/similar size tank, and swaying between fresh/marine... 🤔🤷‍♂️ Cheers, Rich.

After looking at the product pages I have to ask what exactly is the difference (aside from chemical composition) to other daily-use fertilizers? Also caution is needed with supposed liquid carbon. They aren't exactly Co2 substitute but in most cases simply a very weak algicide (glutaraldehyde or similar) that inhibit algae growth. From my experience vallisneria will melt when in contact with liquid carbon products.

Would the tank with no spray be able to grow as fast at that point?

I'd say it's all down to the difference in the shapes of the dragon stone. That, or the difference in the numbers of molecules of water in the one tank vs the other. I can tell there are six more molecules of water in the left tank than in the right tank. Also having the Bandu game box over the left tank gives it a really big advantage. I can't think of anything else that would make a difference. You're giving them both plant food after all, and in pretty much the same dosages. Oh, your not? Well, that shouldn't make much of a difference. It's all down to the things I mentioned above. Especially the Bandu game box. If you want the right hand tank to do as well as the left, you really should get another Bandu game box for that side too. No, not a bandeau. Get your head out of the gutter. Bandu.
