My daughter has cerebral palsy and I did the same thing your mom did, I took her to Sephora when she started to get interested in makeup. At first she struggled and I helped her do it daily until she learned how to grasp the tools comfortably and with confidence. Eventually she got so good at it, she got a job at Sephora as soon as she turned 18. The days on her feet are long and hard but she loves it so much! You remind me of her, she doesn't let much stand in her way when she wants to try something (especially stuff people say she can't do) - she was even a cheerleader in high school and kept up doing the same skills as her teammates. The world needs more determined young women like the two of you.

I recommend using a credit card as a guide for outer v shadow. Step 1:Line up the card to the outer corner and end of eyebrow. Step2: apply darker shadow (the card will prevent it from going to far) step 3 blend into crease and soften the look. I use this trick as a sighted person, i hope this trick helps. Molly, you're a huge inspiration and I admire your outlook on life 😊 Hugs from Victoria bc Canada 🍁

It’s amazing!! I am going into cosmetology and still have so many questions for her because this gives me such a different and new perspective as far as accessibility and educating clients who can’t see the products. The fact that a makeup artist helped her begin this journey as a tween by showing her all the brushes and products and how to use every single thing is so heartwarming and sweet. I hope I get the chance to do the same thing someday!

I'm over 30 and can barely pout on lipstick.. with WORKING EYES. This video gave me hope that maybe I have simply been overthinking everything. Its a good idea about going to a counter for a makeover and having them teach you what to do.. I never thought of that, I always worry they will just throw a lot of product at me to sell. I just want a simple starter for a polished but still natural look. Can you please give advise on how to walk up to a counter for help picking the right colors, what is the best way to approach these sales people so they will be better able to help me?

I can't use mascara for several reasons, including because every time I try, I'll stick it right into my eyes. But maybe using a mirror is the mistake! Molly knows where her hand is and probably since she doesn't rely on sight, has learnt to control it better and to use the information she gets from "where" her body feels. Some things in doing makeup maybe should be done focusing more on the feeling (so you can, for example, anticipate when you're gonna stab your eye)!

I thought of something for you. If you want to use darker colors on the outer eyelid...try placing a card at an angle at the end of your eyelid and placing shadow on the outer lid area. This could work as a guide and could also help create a smoky eye without getting shadow on the side of your face.

This video is kind of old, so I don't know if you'll see my comment or not. But I was wondering if you've heard of this makeup tool made of a rubbery material designed to prevent mascara from making a mess when you apply it. It's shaped like an eye with a handle and covers up your top and bottom eyelid, so it keeps mascara from messing everything up. I need to find you a link on Amazon for one! They're really neat. Also, it's really encouraging to watch your videos. I'm living with debilitating mental illness, and seeing that you can still be happy and active and creative gives me so much hope. Molly, this is fantastic. It really speaks to what simplicity can do in our lives, even if we are sighted. Because you keep things simple and streamlined, you are able to achieve a polished look as a "blind girl". You recognize and accept your weaknesses and do not dwell on them, you either let it go, or find a work around solution, like having your brows tinted.

I am not going to say that I wish I was blind, but I do wish I could feel as great leaving the house with out makeup as much as with. I admire your work and how well you can put yourself out in the world. Keep up the hard work, you are an inspiration for many.

I have been waiting for this video! I loved this so much! Your intro "yeah, I'm blind, so that's a thing" cracked me up! I'd love to see more makeup tutorials/blind girl beauty. It seems like you're becoming more and more comfortable speaking to the camera which really lets your personality shine through! Great video!❤️

for outer lid colors, you could always line up some tape with the outer corner of your eye and end of your eyebrow, then do your eyeshadow (including an outer corner shadow), and in the end, take off the tape. It leaves you with the oeferct angle and sharp clean edges

For a cat eye look there is something called the Vamp Stamp that might make the process easier. It's a stamp on cat eye!! You coat the stamp with your own eyeliner and then carefully place it where you'd like the cat eye to be!

it might be easier if you can SEE where you place the stamp. but when she cant see if the stamp is crooked or properly stamped it can be harder to 'clean up'

I know! The MAC brushers were a gift many years ago and I'd rather keep using them so the suffering was worth it, verses just throwing them out and it all being for nothing, if that makes sense. In terms of other MAC products I have - I've been collecting makeup for many years and have a very large collection. I only switched to trying to use cruelty free products a few years ago. When I switched I gave away all of my skincare, haircare products, etc. to friends but didn't give away makeup because it's not sanitary. In that case, like the brushes, I chose to keep using the product until it was done so that it wasn't wasted. I have a large collection and those products aren't what I reach for on a daily basis, so that means that it takes a long time before they're used up. I try my best and at the end of the day, that's better than not trying at all. :)

I completely agree! You're right, throwing it out wouldn't make MAC stop testing on animals! I just wanted to say something in case you didn't know! I had no idea MAC tested on animals until pretty recently. I'm so happy that people are switching over to animal cruelty products now though! Makes my heart happy! 💗

I’ve watched a few different videos on how to apply makeup an how to pick out what makeup to get an almost all of them by the end I felt overwhelmed to even try. I can’t stand to have anything on my face an most definitely lips, so have stayed far far away from any kind of makeup. Your video is different, it makes it easier to allow myself to try. The way you choose an put on your makeup is less stressful then other methods. Thank you for sharing. I hope to try your method. Now I need to get some all natural makeup. 😃

if i didnt know i wouldnt be able to tell you are blind. but not because of the make up skills but because of your eye movement. i know two blind people and they always look up no matter if they grab something or whatever. you always look down when you grab another brush or when you apply product on the brush. that is very interesting to me :-)

Maybe you'd like that powder pencil eyeliner from Charlotte Tilbury, it's called The Classic and the darker brown "Audrey" is so nice. It's easy to blend out carefully with a dense, thin brush. I love mine!
