Another offroad 4wd adventure in Black Betty traversing some rutted mud trails of the Jilliby Conservation Area. Reasonably mild by somparison to some of her more recent outings, this short showreel showcases just how important it is to get the right line in super slippery conditions.

@MARR27779 Great to see another Rangie being modified. Can't wait to see the pics! The winch has been used a couple of times already. Once reviering a mate, and once to recover myself. Fantastic bit of kit.

The tyres in this video are Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ muddies 265/75/17's. I usually run them at around 22psi in these kind of conditions. TO run that size though you need to run the Llams height controller module to get enough clearance. Cheers and thanks for tuning in!

Im going to have a look at a 2006 RRS tomorrow, but im a bit nervous with all the negative issues I keep reading about. However, it is good to see one being used off road

This is a specific kit for the RRS that includes the warn winch and mounting kit. It is a recessed winch that requires you to cut the centre out of the front bumper.

I'm hoping you could point me in the direction to where I could get the winch kit you have on this , I'm looking to get my RRS set up for some more serious off roading? Love your car hope to get mine close to the same level as yours one day

I'm guessing "mud setting" on Terrain Response, HDC engaged and suspension raised and then some!

Did black betty have the rear locker option? Im really considering getting a sport to do the stuff we do. Not sure that's a sensible idea though.

BB did NOT have the e-locker and I found out after purchasing her that its extremely hard to retro fit. I wouldn't buy one without it. There is an aftermarket front locker available now for them. Not sure if that can be used as a front / rear / both.

I'd love to build a RRS L320 for off-road touring. Did you ever run into trouble with the airbags? What preventative maintenance did you do to avoid being stranded in the bush?

No issue with the air suspension even with all the crazy stuff we tackled. Lots of regular maintenance as well as Lanox underbody treatment before big trips.

Where did you get that winch setup?! Just bought a 2010 RRS supercharged and looking into overlanding. That would be a sweet add!

It's a genuine LR part and we ordered it from Duckworth landrover in the UK

We sold BB but she is still roaming around Sydney somewhere. we didn't find the Sport expensive until we blew the motor. Common fault with the water cover splitting open on the front of the motor with the TDV6 engines.
