And small almost unnoticeable actions. Like he is big on surprises too. Remember the video game koto-rin? When he still ate all her bento even tho there were eggshells in her omelet. He loves Kotoko's coffee, I've read somewhere that when a man insists on his wife's brewed coffee there is a deeper psychological and emotional tie with them spouses that sort of associates the smell of coffee to the warmth of home. When his father was hospitalized and she undercooked the taro root and every dish tasted horrible but still edible, he still ate it without complaining? Remember when Kotoko got so drunk on their first night of honeymoon and Irie-kun had to piggyback ride her to their room. She fell into deep sleep. All day Mari-chan, the slut from their honeymoon taunted Kotoko's way of calling Naoki "Irie-san" so while Kotoko is sleeping, Irie-kun called her "honey" and he smiled as if wishing that she would go that far into calling him honey so he could call her honey too. He keeps doing things that gets misunderstood most of the time. He does them quietly and voluntarily. I think that's called sincerity - to do something quietly for someone without asking for anything in return. Also, notice how he always kisses Kotoko in the cheek or on her forehead after randomly staring at her talking and blabbering. Aww, Naoki! 😍

I prefer the Taiwanese version of the character. She was so pathetic and played for laughs. She was adorable and loved her husband but wasn't a stage 5 clinger like Kotoko in this version. I agree her facial expressions and physical reactions are too over dramatic.

I saw this drama way back in college and immediately fell in love with this drama that’s why I said someday I will find my own Irie Naoki. 4 years later I met my boyfriend and he said that his life is boring without me and ny crazy ideas 🤣 we watch it together and he said he found Kotoko in me, the face and even personality 😅 and I know I found Naoki in him ( but less cold and stubborn) and now I found your comment and later I realized why their relationship is close to my heart, because we are also both libra (me) and scorpio (him) 😅
