The story behind this piece of music is that this song was ina long time a heavyly guarded secret. It was only allowed to be performed in the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and the musical notes were heavyly under wraps, and nobody could ever replicate this song. Until one day along came a 14 year old boy. The boy's name name was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and as we know, he was a musical genius. That boy was profoundly astonished by this song and was captivated by it's beauty. After he heard it he decided that he really wanted to transcribe the music, and later the same day, he did. Entirely from memory, returning rhe following day to make minor corrections. The closest to the original piece as anyone has ever done. At the age of 14. He was later honoured by the pope for his feat.
Its one of best stories in classical music! Thank you!

See my 9/11 vision I had when this was playing in case it helps anyone. It must be a divine song (to person who said this with history of song). I never heard it until several years after 9/11 on the anniversary of that date. I was taking a lunch break from work out in the parking lot of my car, praying and looking out into an open field in front of me with tall grass. This song came on the radio which I had never heard and I had a vision. Hundreds of the people who had died on 9/11 that day appeared as transparent spirits in the field, they were wearing their work clothes they had on that day; blouses, skirts and khacki slacks gently blowing with the tall grass in the breeze. They all wanted me to tell everyone they are just fine and to be at peace as they sang this song to me while it played on the radio. I come back and listen to it from time to time when I want to connect to the holiness I felt in that moment, and every time I hear this. I hope someone who lost someone that day reads this and finds comfort since I have no other way to spread this hope since I don’t know how to tell everyone. Thank u for this history, I don’t doubt its divinity from my experience. The psalm (51) talks about repentance & broken bones and I don’t think it’s coincidence how many bones were broken that day, but Glory to God no bones were broken in the perfect and happy people that stood before me singing that day. I am so grateful to know God and how good he is and to know he is real and how he has nothing to do with religion and just loves us all so much. I am hopeful we can love each other that much one day too and stop hurting, attacking and killing each other over stupid stuff, especially religion. Peace. “Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.”

Kingofeurope why are you commenting on the fact that you are not catholic , sound a bit like " this music is too good for the catholic" for sure not many masterpiece comes from atheists ...
@feonor269 жыл бұрын
Pascal Tenand 1. Because this is music largely utilized by the Catholic Church 2. Not many masterpieces comes from atheists? Are you really sure about the religious views of Michaelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci for example? Just because the Catholic Church was the ones with the money and the patronage for artists to survive back then doesn't mean they were religious. And why would their religious views matter? Were they talented because they were religious or would they be talented also without religion? There have been many talented composers, artists and scientists both past and present who've made many masterpieces if you spend 10 minutes on google. Vincent van Gogh for starters was an atheist, not that it matters. He would probably be a very talentet artist if he was religious too. A list of others can be found here: www.askanatheist.org/famous.html
@pascaltenand8339 жыл бұрын
what you call atheists artists did not compose or work on anything because of their atheism , in fact nothing was composed relatively to an absence of faith , contrary to the masterpieces made precisely in honor of Jesus Christ , the beauty was inspired by Faith not the other way round ...
@feonor269 жыл бұрын
Pascal Tenand No probably not, they were artists indepentely of their faith as I said in my previous comment. But don't be fooled into thinking that every painting of Jesus was because of divine inspiration. As I said earlier, who had the money back in the days? Who had the patronage and the work for artists that needed to get paid? The Catholic Church ofcourse and they would order specific paintings to these artists which would mostly be of a religious nature. In other words, if they didn't paint religious paintings, they wouldn't get paid. Sadly we will never know what it would look like if Leonardo or Michelangelo were hired to paint the ceiling of the Museum of Science for example.

Religion is the disease and infection in this world that infiltrated the simplicity of having a relationship with God and the heavenly earth we once had. Everything like cancer, mental health issues, religion, all the evil etc. is a product of that rebellion/disease which has twisted, hidden, & corrupted the simple gospel of Jesus Christ that is the only cure, the only saving truth in this world of a million lies. All over the world is evil & religion and this is exactly what Jesus warned us of that would happen and Jesus warned us of an increase of deception in this exact time and age that will pull so many astray from the pure childlike faith we can freely put in Jesus that is not of ourselves and not in anything we can do...only in Jesus we can find rest and find the free gift of salvation and then Jesus will open your eyes to all of this truth and all the deception and Jesus will beautifully convict you and change your desires and remove your old ways. The whole world is blinded and lured into so many other false dead beliefs and doctrines. It's really beautiful how simple Jesus is and that's exactly what Satan comes to destroy. Everything Jesus said would happen in the end times is literally all falling perfectly into place and not one of His prophecies and signs have failed while all other predictions have failed in some way. The book of Revelation( last book of the bible) is happening at daily sometimes hourly basis. He is the only truth and we are in the very end of this age and the last days of this fallen earth. Please hear me out that these days so many will give way to false beliefs but I want to encourage you to go to a private place and in all sincerity ask Jesus to reveal the truth to you. Ask Him to show you the way and to help you. There is no loss in doing so, you'll either find out it's not anything or you'll find out everything because I did the same thing and went through such dark times and despair beyond explanation. He showed me the truth and filled me with a peace I can't explain and I'll never be the same. I now desire to give my whole life here on this earth to help others find hope from salvation in Jesus, the only real joy and acceptance I have ever felt. I'm here for you if you ever need anything!! I hope you know your loved by a father who is real and personal. He's not a religion, He is not cruel, He is not a church, He is not a list of rules, He is not far from you, He is not some kind of energy or mentality, He is a loving and personal Father who wants to save us from what's coming. I know I sound crazy and even the Bible says those who are trying to warn everyone will sound crazy but you have a father loves you and only just wants a relationship with you and to protect you and make a way out for you, call on His name, time is shorter than you know. We can go spend eternity with him and go to a place where he will destroy all that ruined this earth we can have the original design that he intended. I love you all and but I just want to share this with you

I haven't felt as deep emotions in years. This made me weep under the power of God. I have been in a very dark place with my mind and haven't been able to express and feel myself and my feelings. But this piece made me extremely euphoric and sad simultaneously. I realized that everyone around me will die someday, excluding me. But all the time we have here on earth is such a precious exprecience we get to live.

Miserere / Lyrics Have mercy on me, O God: according to your great mercy. Miserere mei, Deus: secundum magnam misericordiam tuam. And according to the multitude of thy mercies, blot out my iniquity. Et secundum multitudinem miserationum tuarum, dele iniquitatem meam. Wash me further from my iniquity: and cleanse me from my sin. Amplius lava me ab iniquitate mea: et a peccato meo munda me. For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always against me. Quoniam iniquitatem meam ego cognosco: et peccatum meum contra me est semper. You alone have I sinned, and I have done evil before you: that you may be justified in your words, and that you may win when you are judged. Tibi soli peccavi, et malum coram te feci: ut justificeris in sermonibus tuis, et vincas cum judicaris. For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins my mother conceived me. Ecce enim in iniquitatibus conceptus sum: et in peccatis concepit me mater mea. For behold, thou hast loved the truth: thou hast revealed unto me the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom. Ecce enim veritatem dilexisti: incerta et occulta sapientiae tuae manifestasti mihi. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be white over the snow. Asperges me hysopo, et mundabor: lavabis me, et super nivem dealbabor. You will give joy and gladness to my audience: and the humbled bones will rejoice. Auditui meo dabis gaudium et laetitiam: et exsultabunt ossa humiliata. Turn away thy face from my sins: and blot out all my iniquities. Averte faciem tuam a peccatis meis: et omnes iniquitates meas dele. Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit in my bowels. Cor mundum crea in me, Deus: et spiritum rectum innova in visceribus meis. Do not cast me out of your sight, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Ne proiicias me a facie tua: et spiritum sanctum tuum ne auferas a me. Give me the joy of your saviour: and strengthen me with your main spirit. Redde mihi laetitiam salutaris tui: et spiritu principali confirma me. I will teach the wicked your ways, and the wicked will turn to you. Docebo iniquos vias tuas: et impii ad te convertentur. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation: and my tongue shall exult in thy righteousness. Libera me de sanguinibus, Deus, Deus salutis meae: et exsultabit lingua mea justitiam tuam. O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise. Domine, labia mea aperies: et os meum annuntiabit laudem tuam. For if you had wanted a sacrifice, I would certainly have given it: you will not delight in holocausts. Quoniam si voluisses sacrificium, dedissem utique: holocaustis non delectaberis. A sacrifice offered to God by the spirit: a broken and humbled heart, O God, you will not despise. Sacrificium Deo spiritus contribulatus: cor contritum, et humiliatum, Deus, non despicies. Do kindly, O Lord, in your good will to Zion: that the walls of Jerusalem may be built. Benigne fac, Domine, in bona voluntate tua Sion: ut aedificentur muri Ierusalem. Then you will accept the sacrifice of righteousness, the oblations, and the burnt offerings: then they will place the calves on your altar. Tunc acceptabis sacrificium justitiae, oblationes, et holocausta: tunc imponent super altare tuum vitulos. Source: Musixmatch
