Thanks Misha! Absolutely loved this lap! Hope the beeping didn't ruin to much of the video! It's set to beep at 110°c on the coolant. I let misha push on as I deemed it okay! Few more cooling mods lined up to really help it stay cool when pushing really hard!

Very conservative warning. Everything below 120 is a complete non-issue on modern oils. Even 130 isn't critical yet imo.

Purchased an FK8 over the weekend - un-modded. I'm flabbergasted how well it grips corners at speed and the braking is super-responsive. First impressions are very strong. It feels a very safe and solid drive when you give it welly. Much as I loved the FN2 we had, this thing is a serious upgrade. It as an absolute asbo-mobile, but its looks are growing on me.

If your temps are still getting a bit high try to change to stock thermostat. It is set from the factory quite high so that the engine runs warm due to emission standards, I believe the stock one opens fully at 90C. Otherwise great lap and car looks it is performing extremely well with very minor mods!

Hiya mate car has low temp thermostats for the cooling system and oil! Coolant opens around the 76 mark and thermostat on oil is 80c. I've got a few ideas to help sort the overheating

@@Grimace427 stock setup over-reads by about 5-6%. Assuming he's running 265/35R18 instead of 245/30R20 that's another 2%. So perhaps 150mph (241kmh) and 142mph (229kmh) respectively. Still quick.

@@tmmtmm i have the same wheel setup 265/35/18 and my speedo only reads typically 2-4mph over depending on how fast i am going. I have went 164mph and my police radar and hondata app read 161mph so it wouldnt be too far off.

DC5 is the last cable throttle high revving Honda. If you like Throttle response, those cars are a blast to drive. New cars have gotten better, but nothing beats an NA K20 with a cable throttle body. Rev matching downshifts is so crisp, and the engine is soooo fun to rev out.

I did a little research. And found out some fastest lap data with regards to car type. This car actually beats a TTRS for lap times. I was a little gutted as I own one. Then a felt a little better when I found out it also beats the RS6.

RS6 is portly though, and TTRS isn't exactly lightweight. Plus you get to hear that amazing 5. And if you have a manual it's just as fun as the CTR.

@mediocreman2 I appreciate that. There is about 100kg (give or take) difference between the TTRS and Civic. Nevertheless, for a front wheel drive car giving away about 90bhp is pretty impressive. But I'll stick to my Audi lol

FK8 Type R are such amazing track cars... Shame on the cooling issues, but once they are solved... Not many "Normal" sports cars and some super cars can keep up in the corners... Look at that M2, couldnt touch it in the corners, just in the straights.

In the best German Magazin Sport Auto the Megane 4RS Trophy was faster in Comparison test in the corners as the Type R. Time Hockenheim GP Track: Type R 02:02,8min 4RS Trophy 02:00,7min So 2 seconds faster.

Yes, a Mégane with no back seats, roll cage, semi slick tyres, no AC, etc... Pretty much a cheat. Still just 2 seconds... Anyway, the Limited edition fk8 is Faster and still has back seats.

Think about a thicker rad and have the intercooler at the side of the radiator. Also proper ducting and no gaps between the AC and cooling radiators. It will fix the cooling issues.
