I respectfully disagree about Miss Samoa’s placing. She got the “sympathy” vote. I’ve outlined in my previous post why. I’m sure people from the Philippines (Filipinos) are not referred to as “Pacific Islanders”.

Why would she got the sympathy vote. She is just the same as any other girl was there. If that the case in your opinion then she should had got the wild card. Obviously you know nothing about our people. Look us up in sports , acting, music, weSamoansarecompetitive and strive to be the bestwe competed with best around the world. Our girl owned it, we are happy, humble and respectful. The best person won BUT don’t you dare said we got the sympathy vote as that Isa narrow minded viewpoint.

Tanto Puerto Rico como Samoa merecian la corona, pero la representante de mi isla Puerto Rico sin duda alguna dio la mejor respuesta de todas y por eso venció. Estoy seguro que el Jurado dio mucho peso a como ellas se desenvolvieron en las preguntas. Esto marca un hito histórico para Puerto Rico, pues fue su primera vez participando en ese certamen y se posicionó como una de las grandes favoritas. Es la segunda vez que vamos por primera vez a un concurso y ganamos siendo nuestra primera participación. Ya ocurrió en Miss Grand International con Janele Chaparro. Ahora toca mantener clasificaciones todos los años en Miss Global como ha ocurrido en Miss Grand International. ¡ Enhorabuena para mi bella Isla!

When i was a boy in the early 1960s i loved the Miss Universe pageant. I still remember in 1964 Imelda Marcos won the title. And i agreed with the consensus that she was "the most beautiful woman in the world. " I was 11.
