Miss Pacific Islands was back for the first time after a 3 year break due to Covid restrictions and border closures.
The pageant was held in Samoa and both the former Miss Pacific Islands Seumanu Fonoifafo Seumanu and the current Miss Samoa Haylani Kuruppu, hosted 4 other island nations beauty queens - Miss American Samoa, Kauhani Fuimaono; Miss Nauru, Alexander Pitcher; Miss Papua New Guinea, Josie Nicholas & Miss Solomon Islands, Tiare Haro.

The pageant night was held on Friday the 3rd of February 2023.

Moving forward with Miss PNG taking the lead, , let us all promote and advocate for the blue Pacific. That means the Pacific has got to be protected from all forms of pollution including over or illegal fishing, coral bleaching, mass logging, river and above all the pollution that might be caused by the intrusion of nuclear forces.

Why don't they announce the contestants by their NAMES!? Instead of saying the country names only? These young ladies should be identified , especially when announcing the winning place-getters.It's terrible to be a no-name. Thank you.
