La miss Universo más bella? . Es bella pero no ha sido la mas" . Amelia Vega de Dominicana, y la rusa que duró poco eran mucho más bellas. Y han habido más. Por eso es que están como están por su soberbia y falta de respeto creyéndose superiores. Y lo que les falta.

Además reconoció que Irene era hermosa, sólo dijo que para ella habían más hermosas, aunque la revista Vogue lo haya manifestado es la opinión de ella y ya!!, no es necesario insultar.

Venezuela and Brazil should have been the top two. Miss Brazil had that gorgeous face and hair...but I think Miss Venezuala’s poise won it for her. She was totally composed throughout...Brazil was so beautiful but quite fidgety. Still though, it would have been a close call. Brazil was way underscored by the judges.

I'll never figure out what they saw in Miss Venezuela. She had way too much makeup on. I would have put Canada and Brazil easily in the top two. Either could have won

I think Miss Canada was the most naturally beautiful. And Miss Venezuela cheated. She used 6 times more makeup than the other contestants

Miss Canada rallied and shined on the finals night and that is the most important! She was able to be like a discovery on finals night. Her character, charm, her modelling and her chic style different than the rest.

I was there at the Minskoff theater on July 20th 1981.) I can honestly say that from the moment Miss Venezuela got on stage for the first time, we were all in awe of how gorgeous she was, much more that you can see on tv. Another beautiful girl was the one from Tahiti and believe it or not the Canadian one. The Brazilian girl had a pretty face but also had the most unusual super long neck. I can tell you this., everyone in the audience was very happy with the girl the judges chose. To this day she remains as one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Stunning.

I have to say, I'm not surprised she won, I mean she really just had this beautiful aura of her that stood out. Am glad Tahiti did well, she looked great. I too would like to ask, what was it like being there. I wish I could have gone to one of these before it all changed to what it is now.

Why surprising about Miss Canada? She was pretty, full of charm, but such a great presence. Very professional and natural modelling as well. And yes, Miss Venezuela was simply magic.

I'm Canadian and I love the top 2. Venezuela was perfectly prepared. I love Miss Canada also. She is very unique... being French Canadian, which isn't too common for Miss Canadas and she was very beautiful. The Miss Canada pageant did not used to do much to prepare the girls to compete at Miss Universe (unlike Venezuela which basically was a beauty pageant academy) so her placement was very impressive. I think the black gown with the strong shoulders was considered very edgy in 1981 and she carried it very well.

Holy **** the Venezuelan interpreter translated the final answer so badly. Glad some judges understood Spanish because he translated half what she said with no emotion at all.

Of the top 12, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden, Holland will go on to win before the decade is out. Venezuela will win again. Norway will win in 1990.

Fun fact about this Miss Brasil, this year 1981 she goes to Miss Universe and Venezuela won the pageant, later in 1984 she goes to Miss World, and also Venezuela won the pageant with Astrid Carolina Herrera.

@@MrVakero1966 Miss Venezuela no supo contestar correctamente en el primer intento porque el inepto del interprete no supo traducir la pregunta como tal. Y cuando Irene despues respondio correctamente, el interprete nuevamente no le dio la traduccion exacta a su respuesta. Casi le cuesta el titulo a Irene por culpa del incompetente del interprete.

Irene Sáez Conde era la más hermosa, tenia ángel, con esa parada de niña buena y tímida y con una ternura (igual un poco fingida) logro conquistar al jurado y al público esa noche, pero al oír su respuesta final dije que estupidez de mujer, pero la hermosura vale más y finalmente ganó esa noche el segundo titulo de Miss universo para su país.

i am tired of watching this video. Miss Vezezuela deserved the title, but Miss Brazil deserved be the first runner up. Irene Saez, the prettiest Miss Universe of all time. I love her so much and will never forget the moment of her crowning. Kisses Irene, from a brasilian admirer.

No habia notado q Srilanka obtuvo 8 en traje de baño... tremendo puntaje... y Canada bastante bajo aunq muy buena participante. Me gustaban de las q no clasificaron: Ireland y Puerto Rico. Y mis favoritas... Irene y miss Brasil. Muy buena producción y la MU saliente muy dulce y bella.

Su año en el reinado del Miss Universo le permitió viajar y conocer lugares y ciudades que eran ejemplos de orden y de civilidad. ¿Cuantos lugares fuera de Venezuela conoció Chavez antes de ser presidente que no fuera la playa? Y ni qué decir de la preparación de Irene antes de ser alcaldesa de Chacao, estudió Ciencias Políticas, sabía cómo administrar una ciudad y su gestión lo demostró.... Creo que no hay comparación. No se ganó un cargo público por ser bonita o por haber sido Miss Universo, sino que lo demostró con su gestión.... Creo que a muchos políticos les hace falta por lo menos ir al Miss Universo al menos para que puedan salir y conocer otras realidades fuera de nuestras fronteras.

@@carolinajara8071 Para que le iban a dar chance a las demás si eso siempre lo hacían con la favorita y ella venia de ganar la preliminar y seguía ganando notese que fue la única con el puntaje encima de 9 en traje de baño, osea que no había que escoger mucho...Estaba sobrada y fija ganadora es más las mises ya sabían que ella ganaría por lo hermosa y con una personalidad muy aplomada...
