Yeah, there’s no better singer than Jessica Sanchez. Unlike today’s commercially successful American artists, she doesn’t need auto-tune for her vocals. I’m saddened that she wasted 7 years of her life doing snippet covers, after Interscope did her dirty.

Who are you trying to convince? How is this impressive? We all know how the Thailand Miss Universe theme conquered the Universe and this is just music sound like it was produced in 7 hours.

@@eduardochavacano nakakatawa. i have watched the opening number of MUT and all i hear was drum rolls and beats, something that audience cant sing along with. I agree that the drum rolls added to the excitement of the presentation, but it has a less impact post production in compared to a full song where people can sing even after the show. This opening song from MUPh is much more memorable than a drum roll. Lol.

Why? she cant find a job in the US? There are millions of Filipino artist who can write and sing songs, why in the universe to you need to import a singer for a song that doesn’t really celebrate her vocals? Might as well hire Catriona Grey or Anne Curtis sing a remix version of this.

@@eduardochavacano original is much better than a cover. Also, why would you hire another singer if u can invite the original singer? Obviously, vocals can be celebrated in many ways. Singers don’t have to show their full octave for people to recognize them as great singers. Even a low key song can give a great impact. And yes, Jessica should sing this song live.

Congratulations MUP and Empire Philippines for this excellent (the best gyud!) staging of the inaugural Miss Universe Philippines pagent.. your song choices are so so so good..Kudos to the ones who composed and wrote this song, the rearranging of the Mabuhay Song is also so superb..very nice! and the use of OPM songs for swinmuit and evening gown are just lit! Thanks Jessica Sanchez for vibrantly giving interpretation to the song. Just like what others said, make this a trademark of MUP...and use it as the opening song to MUP pageants in the years to come. Congratulations once again! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas (with love from Bangkok, Thailand).

To those who aren't aware of this song's genre, this is under "synth-pop". Synth-Pop songs are heavily influenced by 80s music styles. They are usually very neon and upbeat. I've noticed that MUP2020 used alot of synthpop in their soundtrack this year. I also heard it on the song used for Evening Gown, even the entire staging for this year seem to be influenced by 90s or 80s styles. Interestingly, that 90s inspired trend is in again from fashion to music. The production this year is very retro-modern I must say, and it's amazing considering there's a pandemic going on. Those who say the production is shitty or outdated, and keep on comparing it to Thailand's aren't knowledgeable enough about different art styles, concepts and production events like this. They only see the superficial, the surface and not the value of it.
